I have one of Verizon's old unlimited data plans (on my second, used Samsung Convoy flip phone ), but it adds about $30 to make a total bill that hovers around $95 a month. They keep trying to tempt me with new phones (and the fact that I never, ever approach even their lowest data cap ) to get me into a new contract with a cap, but I refuse.
Am i reading this correct, you are paying $95 (£62) per month for a shite phone that doesnt even have the capability to eat through unlimited amounts of data anyway?? Maybe im picking you up wrong, and you are getting to use it for home data or something on other devices?
Been all over my twitter feed folks 'complaining' it drinks their battery. Complaining should be taken in context, most fan bois are just noting the issue, they couldnt bring themselves to complain that their beloved iphone might not be perfect.
No, I'm paying it for an awesome shock and water-resistant phone with admittedly limited internet/picture/video capability, but also built-in GPS navigation. No. I just never, ever want to get hit with unforseen charges, even if I use the GPS nonstop for a month.
Maybe, but i think a more likely scenario is the girl in the call centre has a list of numbers at the end of or approaching the end of contract. She doesnt care about saving verizon money by leaving you on the current plan, all shes interested in is her bonus for signing people up.
There is nobody calling me. I think the actual term of the contract expired a long time ago, but they can't take away my unlimited data until I sign a new contract, so until then I'm month-to-month on the old plan. Gonna see how long I can get away with that. Fight the power!
95 dollars? Whoa, you guys sure still live in the mobile stone age. Thought that had been remedied in the past few years. Our plans here start at 8 euro a month. For 25 you get unlimted data, so many free minutes you can use the thing as a 24/7 babyphone and more SMS than you can talk in a month. But since the market shrunk from five real (in contrast to 50 virtual) providers to three lately I guess that's coming to an end too. T'was nice while a market that actually worked as intended existed here for once
Its a mixed bar now, like Chrome on Desktop. If you want to go to a specific website you just type in the URL; if you wanna search just search regularly.
Yep, They can have my unlimited data when they pry it from my cold, dead, hands. Ya know they're gonna fuck us eventually, but until then I'm gonna abuse the shit out of it.
Keep in mind the guy you are talking to. Not the brightest star in the sky and takes pride in being a cave man.
<admin hat> Y'all should probably watch it with the insults before people start pushing the report post buttons and mods hafta take an official stance on some of these comments. </admin hat> I stopped by my parent's place yesterday due to my dad's credit card swiper not working. Reason being, Kudos upgraded and now doesn't want people to use their app on iOS4. So after 2 hours backing up his 13 GB of data and contacts via unreliable wifi due to my mom downloading 1080p clips of Chinese operas, I started the slow process of upgrading his iPhone 4. After starting the upgrade, iTunes just assumed I hadn't backed anything up and started the backup again. Anyway, after all was said and done, it seems I now have a working copy of iOS7 on pa's iPhone. It works pretty well, though it froze a few times at first. Since then, no other problems my dad reported and it continues to function like it's suppose to. The map app seems to also be missing Streetview, but I dunno if this is a recent development or if they took it out in iOS5 or iOS6.
WHY didn't you over the air update? You don't lose ANYTHING that way. You lose TONS with a "backup." Over the air update? You don't even have to put in a new pass code for the phone, reenter email passwords, etc.
I believe that IOS6 replaced googlemaps with Apple's own map version. I think googlemaps is still available from the app store though.
Battery drain is a cool new feature designed to make sure you charge more frequently, thereby avoiding a dead battery later.
Yeah, WP8 has had it for years as well. Apple really can shovel shit in their mouths and their fanboys will swear it is candy.
That's more of a Safari just sucks issue. I've used Chrome for iOS since it was launched and it's always been perfect at searching, syncing, and sharing across all platforms.
iPhone is an iPhone. Just like a Lamborghini is a Lamborghini. Other features may be available on many a Fagdroid, but iPhone always does it more perfectly than anything else. Besides, the new iPhone 5s smokes every other phone pitted against it in both graphics and regular computations. So there.
