Sure, you routinely call people cum guzzling douche nozzles in real life, and invite them to eat a sack of dicks. Of the many bullshit things you've had to say, this might be the smelliest of them all.

Yup. I'm pretty sure at work UA is more like Milton in Office Space than the bold iconoclast he portrays here. Heck, look at the way he and Spaceturkey were going at it in...pretty much every active thread a few days ago. So I started the fight thread and pretty quickly he agreed that he wouldn't be getting into any fights IRL.

Oh and to answer the OP:

    No. I would not.

I've done too many bad things to have my name recorded next to them. Clean slate maybe. Otherwise...I'm in a too high profile position IRL to have that happen.

I almost give a fuck what you think. "Bold iconoclast" is your invention, and I don't need to live up to shit. There are only a few people here who know me in real life, but feel free to ask them how differently I act in person.

At work. I berate idiots at work on a daily basis. There is not a single fucking person left in that building who expects me to quietly put up with their bullshit.

Correction, I won't be getting into any "Come at me bro!" high school dick-waving contests about nothing. If I am attacked, I will defend myself, but a grown ass man should not be fighting over words.

Yes, I said "ass man." Don't get excited. :gay:

    Go ahead! Destroy me!*

Though if you wouldn't destroy Dayton, who represents a threat to our way of life, I'm not sure why you'd destroy me.

I'm waiting for the most spectacular moment to destroy you. Right now your destruction would only be slightly more entertaining than Dayton's. You deserve something more like Skrain Maxwell's demise.

I don't doubt that the Google is data mining the shit out of WF. We've had threads on breaking news that have popped up on page 1 of the Google before they ever appeared on any news websites. That's happened several times.

I have no doubt that NSA or whoever has been reading flagged threads here for years. They search for keywords and I'm sure we post those words fairly often.

But why make it easier? Or more prolific?

It's the same reason I oppose gun registration. They already have everything they will ever need to find out what guns I've purchased and can do so in a matter of hours.

I want whatever I post or comment on any website to stay there. Right where I posted it and nowhere else. If I want it posted on Facebook or Yahoo, I'll post it on Facebook or Yahoo.

I read the news on Space.com almost daily, but I never comment there. Why? Because it shows up on FB.

Let's be real here: we are all internet personnas here. We all come here to discuss, but also to troll and flame. As much as he might deny it, even UA is a personna here. Half of the fun of Wrodforge is letting your Id come out and play.

Nope. I think linking WF to FB would be a major game-changer and one I want no part of.

That's not "real" - that's a deliberate choice made by you and others like you that you have no grounds for applying to everyone here.

Of the WFers I've met in person, only one is a "persona," and not a very good one. Or I should say "was," since he ran off in the middle of the Rep Wars.

Do not presume to speak for anyone but yourself.

Huh, I heard somebody else suggest the same thing. Personally I wouldn't be opposed to the idea, so long as everybody could save what they wanted before everything was wiped out.

Okay, I think I get what you're saying Muad. I apologizes in advance for releasing personal info, but I think it's the only way to illustrate the point. Your concern is that this:

    magically becomes this on Facebook:

And all your union reenactment buddies won't understand. I'm pretty sure it doesn't work that way.

Off topic - If pretending to be the spokesperson for others were a disease Wordforge would be quarantined.

I'd prefer to have Faceman over Gordon P. Firemark. Damn it, there I go again with personal information! What is wrong with me tonight?

Nope. What I am online is what I am IRL. Even the playful silliness like the Asyncritters: I am very well known for joking around and not always taking myself too seriously. My personal values do not get shut off when I'm communicating by internet message board instead of by telephone, e-mail, or some other medium.

The only reason I keep my real identity hidden here is to avoid extraneous ad hominum arguments against me right here, not to prevent those who know me in real life from finding out what I post here. In fact, a number of people who know me lurk here just to see what I'm discussing about currently.

In any case, there is a pretty good chance that sooner or later my real life identity will become common knowledge on the board. I have shown my face in pictures often enough, and my picture is kicking around internet enough with my real name attached to it, that the connection is bound to be made one of these days. For now, even those who have figured it out are not able to point it out on the board, because of the "revealing personal information" rule, but I'm pretty sure that if Wordforge lasts a few more years, most people here will know who I am and exactly what I do for a living.

That will almost certainly affect how some of them talk to me, but it will have minimal effect on how I post. Because I am faithful here to what I am everywhere else.

Maybe that's how it is for you, but I'm more or less exactly the same on this board as I am in real life, which is why I've been described by those who know me as "abrasive."

I think that's true of most of us. I won't go as far as Async, to say I am exactly the same. But what I said earlier about the church parking lot vs. the dive bar holds. I am the same person, though my style may adjust to the standards of the location.

I tend to be far more appealing and tolerable in person than online.

Part of it is the medium I suppose.

Probably not. I mean, I'm sure most people here are legit but I leave my personal identity and personal life in the trusted hands of those posters who I feel have earned it. After the Mewa, Eccentric, et.al. meltdowns, I don't need my personal information on here to be taken and used for malicious purposes. Got enough drama in RL and "ain't nobody got time for dat!"
