This afternoon I saw a pair of raccoon while I was deer hunting. Doesn't Muad Dib have an ongoing feud with these masked scamps?
Anyway they were cute and since this isn't near too many houses they aren't causing any trouble.

The mortality figures for someone with the kind of cancer that Jobs had have the longest living survivors only making it one more year than he did. It's impossible to know if he'd have gotten that extra year if he'd started treatment immediately. Still, shortly after he died, there was an announcement of a promising treatment heading towards human trials. I'm fairly certain a guy like Jobs could have gotten to the head of the line to try the stuff out.

Muad, I don't know if you've seen these news stories or not, but they're worth a look:

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/10/02/ariad-study-cancer-idUSL3N0RX2HB20141002

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/greatsp...-close-to-lung-cancer-approval-for-nivolumab/

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-...-with-minnow-to-develop-lung-cancer-drug.html

    http://www.foxnews.com/health/2014/...n-patients-with-rare-lung-cancer-study-shows/

In just the past week or so, there's been some pretty big announcements about how these drugs are helping people with lung cancer. I don't know if they'll work on your type or not, but I've never seen so many drugs for a single disease pop into "Holy shit! We've got to start giving these to people now!" status as these have.

As a believer, I think it is a perfectly valid discussion to consider whether our cultural cliches actually make sense or line up with what the Biblical revelation actually says about God. It's dangerous to assume that traditional cliches actually represent sound doctrine.

more funny, when I was trying to drown out the truth with Traditionalist myths, Flashy was the most anti-Christian poster here. I wonder sometimes if he's not the Bizzaro version of me...

    Bam.

We had the same experience, twice. Not with cancer, obviously, but with scores of people saying "we'll pray for yall" and very few stepping up to do something practical. When we had the fire, there wasn't one person who brought, say, a home cooked meal to the motel or some other small favor. When I was in the hospital, my wife was repeatedly walking to the supermarket - in February! - because we couldn't find "friends" willing to give her a ride. There were maybe 3 people total who stepped up with no expectation of payment, and actually DID something (peaking of locals, on-line friends were fantastic - but also not the ones crowing about praying)

    Matt. 22:36-40
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

    Galatians 5:14
For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."

if I really believed you were a Christian and not just trollling (I don't) I'd say you were as piss-poor an example as any member of Westboro. However, I'm reasonably certain that you get off on the conceit of professing to be a Christian, then being an ass, so as to reflect poorly upon actual believers. Problem is, you suck at it and are thus not really successful in that regard.

Wow, the guy that forced me to study up on the Civil War. Better than any teacher I ever had. Thanks for coming back to post with us though I'm hardly here. please do all the doctors instruct you to do.

I really don't know what more to say. I am saddened by this news but know that Muad Dib is too onery (sp?) to just give up.
