I don't have any spoilers, bitches. You have to add those.

    Anyway, season 7 starts tonight.

Yeah I'm pumped - my happy ass is sitting right here munching on some venison (deer meat to you city folk) drinking Mellow Yellow Zero (kind of a southern zero calories version of Mountain dew) waiting for it to start. I am pumped to the extreme!

Mellow Yellow isn't a Southern version of Mountain Dew. It's the Coca Cola version of Mountain Dew. Sun Drop is the Southern version of Mountain Dew. :bailey:

Sun Drop? I've never had that. They have a knockoff version of Mountain Dew called Mountain Thunder. And a knockoff of Doctor Pepper being Mister Pibb. But Mellow Yellow Zero is pretty good I must say. They have come a long way with diet soda over the past few years.

Gotta admit, I didn't think the producers would go through it.

    Nice deflection with Abraham.

Too much time and debate went on, and I think it took away from the emotion of the death scene. If they were going to kill two off they should have put the first death at the climax of last season.

Glad they went through with it.
It was every bit as traumatic as the comics, if not more so.
But godDAMMIT, it should have been the finale.
Milking it all summer? Fuck you.
The dumpster fake-out with Glenn? Fuck you!
Milking the dumpster fake-out with the Morgan prequel and other shit? Fuuuuck you!

I almost want to quit, but I like Negan as a villain now, so I'll begrudgingly hang on for a bit, and see how it goes.

My only criticism of Jeffrey Dean Morgan's portrayal of Negan is that he isn't anywhere near as foul-mouthed as he should be.

Gotta love American television. It's okay to show, in detail, a guy bashing someone's head in with a baseball bat... but the minute you say "fuck" or show a naked tit, the censors go batshit crazy. :jayzus:

Abraham said "balls" and got his head bashed in. There are some things you just don't say on TV. :brood:

We just got it tonight in the UK. Pretty intense. My wife was about to quit the show altogether if they had of taken Carl's arm off.

I'm glad someone stepped up to rein Rick's group in. They have been nothing but a giant crime wave since the series started, stealing anything that isn't nailed down for their own personal use. :ua:

Tip to those with any sense of ethics and knowledge of the law: Just because virtually everyone has died doesn't mean you can loot their estates! Almost every piece of property, even personal property, left after the zombie apocalypse has to go through probate. :waiting:

Yeah. That happened. I had wished for Carl. First because he annoys me and secondly because boy now that's motivation for Rick.

I didn't get the breakdown in the S6 finale and I did not get the whining and breaking down this time around. I mean, yea, outmanned, outgunned and outsmarted. He lost. BUT we have had such situations before and he reacted by standing up and getting all action and shit. Rick's reaction this time was so out of character, as was running into the trap blindly.

After this, nobody will ever listen to him again unless he goes out, finds a Minigun and murders every last one of Negan's people.

Glenn was the last guy who deserved what he got. One of the few who are likeable in that bunch.

    Finally saw it.

It was brutal, but from the way people were carrying on, I expected worse.

I was about done with this show*, but like @Diacanu says, Negan looks to be a pretty interesting bad guy.

*Not because of any one thing, but because it mostly bores me and the characters you're supposed to root for do so many stupid things. Overall I've liked the show, but it's never been "appointment television" for me the same way shows like Breaking Bad, BSG, and many others have been.

Still don't know what to think about Negan...in the finale from last season, I couldn't get past his wardrobe...all I could think about when I saw him was Post-Apocalyptic Andrew Dice Clay. "Old Mother Hubbard, was a Walker...I fucked her!" I didn't notice it so badly in this season's premier. But I'm hoping he's not all one-dimensional like The Governor was.

I was a bit ready to quit too. I guess I wanted to see more of a back and forth battle with Negan rather than him just taking over entirely. I also do not get how he is keeping power being so spread out and with so many people who should have underlying revenge motives against him. I got how the governor was able to get and hold power, but I don't fully get how Negan maintains power. It just seems like it would be too easy to leave or to kill him.

I hope they explain it and give it a while to work out the arc. I was really disappointed in how easily and quickly they dispatched with terminus, even though I loved Rambo Carol. Negan is a decent enough villain to hang onto for a little while. I am actually a bit glad Glen and red died. Glen should have died a long time ago, and red was starting up this whole relationship drama. It is the same reason I was happy to see Rick lose the other woman and her kids.

I am also on and off about Karl. Sometimes he seems smart and cunning like when he was getting medical supplies at the prison, and then sometimes they treat him like a damsel in distress. They should kill him off because he is confusing people as to the time factor. He has aged well beyond the time that has passed, and perhaps it is seeing him as a teenager who should have over five years of experience from his beginning that is messing things up. Carl should still be a tween and his character seems to act like that despite being physically adult.

For why Negan keeps his position, I'm going to go with the fact that he delivers for his crew and from their perspective is a fair reasonable leader.

I could see that, but they depict the people around him as opportunistic and greedy. There are just too many of them for one of them not to decide to try to take Negan out and take what they can with their allies. Someone in the violent ass kicking crowd always thinks they can do better. That is not to mention someone striking back at him for revenge and not caring about the consequences. It is not like Negan just did this to rick's group. He has done it to everyone. He is not well protected. What was to stop one of negan's people from executing him while he was focussed on Rick and company? Once he is gone there would be a power struggle.

A really interesting trend with this show (but it's been going on since Season 3 or so): no Rick automatically means excellent episodes. Seen it twice in season 7 already.

Looking back on meeting Michael Curtis, aka Abraham, over the summer he seemed to be watching from far away. He spent time watching the panel with the lesser stars from the back, and it seemed he was a bit sad. I guess he would have known by then his time was over in the series. He did not say anything about it, but I wonder if it was hard on him doing the con knowing his part was over.
