I've been way too busy to early vote, plus my early voting precinct is 15 miles away. No, I'll be voting on Election Day.

Voting was so two weeks ago.

Having experienced all mail voting, I have to wonder why more states don't do it.

Yeah, printing and postage costs are a thing, but you only have to staff a small fraction of the polling places (there are a few for those who need assistance voting; handicapped, illiterate, etc). So costs would be a wash or net savings I'd guess.

Only negative I can think of is if an election is tight you might to wait a few days to get the results (only have to be postmarked by Tuesday, dropped off at a Drop Box, or in line for a replacement ballot by 8 pm).

Positive is significantly higher participation, especially in non-Presidential elections.

Voted via mail because my town no longer supports a polling place!

Every year the County Elections Offices tell everyone that you have to put postage on it, and then every year the Post Office comes out and says that they deliver all ballots regardless, they just bill the County Elections for postage.

It's kinda comical at this point.

Yeah. Drove by and saw the lines were tiny so jumped at it.

Already knew all the issues besides POTUS that I was voting on. Of course there was no way in hell I'd vote for Hillary so yeah I broke with the Never Trump crowd and voted for him.

    :wtf:

Is that in Sacramento Country only? My ballot down here required extra postage, and I only knew that from NPR.

The only way to early vote in redneck states is an absentee ballot where you go to the clerk's office and attest you'll be unavailable on election day (which, of course, is usually a lie but I can't be bothered with all that shit)

Give Abbot, Paxton and Patrick and his crew time.

NC went insane trying to reduce early voting in the last year or two, trying to get back to the days when the negros knew their place. I'm sure a lot of Texas legislators are watching to see how that plays out (Florida too probably)

I haven't voted, partly because Michigan doesn't have early voting or no-reason absentee voting, and partly because I enjoy the ritual of voting in person on Election Day.

I voted already. This was my first time early voting, although I did vote by absentee ballot once before. New York doesn't have any early voting, so no chance while I lived there. Last year, after moving to Maryland, I could have voted early, but there was never going to be much of a line, plus the regular voting location is at the end of my block and election day is a company-wide work-from-home day.

Ya know, ever since I've been eligible to vote.

As for this election, I still need to drop off my ballot.

Hell yes! Matter-of-fact I voted early in your poll ten minutes before you made the thread.

Mail voting? Your ballot being handled by the USPS type of mail? You might as well flush your ballot down the toilet. Our new mail carrier fucks up our mail (gives me mail sent to someone with a CONNECTICUT address sent to them from ISRAEL) and gives mail addressed to me to any number of citizens in my zip code, and mail I send out can only end up who-knows-where.
A couple of weeks ago in Atlanta a woman had a video of a postal worker dumping bags of mail in the woods on the edge of her subdivision - it was shown on the news and the USPS said they were trying to figure out which mail carrier it was. Can it be that hard to figure out? Do we need Scotland Yard on this case?

I'm good. And as mentioned earlier, if you don't want to mail them there are ballot drop off places everywhere.
