What you ignore is that Paladin left BECAUSE of how GTurner was unfairly treated. So the proper question is one GTurner worth getting the return of Paladin?
Additionally, there are add ons available which make even quoted text from an ignored user disappear. They really have no excuses for their abuse.
Aw geez - it wasn't a conspiracy, just a giant clusterfuck. Happens a lot when a bunch of people have equal input and the resulting compromise doesn't fully satisfy anyone and actually makes no sense.
An intelligent starting point might be to read why he said he was leaving and then reversing that deplorable misdeed. Just an idea though.
Idiot. You think it's better for all three owners to place people on ignore? We did that song and dance with Anc/garamet and everyone blasted him for that. Rightfully so. We have to be open to read everything to do our jobs, and if they can't handle that, then they need to step down. Which John and I did.
What's funny is that paladin was a moderator and a frequent poster. I bet if everyone had been like "look, his spam is driving me crazy and it's ruining my experience", he probably would have been down to be the one who had to read all his crap so the rest of the staff could put him ignore.
Aside from the stealing the board thing back in the day, I doubt any decisions were conspiracies. At the end of the day, we're all just people, and none of us are infallible.
That, or cut out derp from RR threads because the Dayton shit was infesting the board like a cancer. (That actually happened, BTW, which makes his decision to leave all the more baffling. He's been on the business end of "WF-killing" decision and I know that decision didn't come from a position of malice towards Dayton or garamet. )
"Anything that could possibly go wrong often does – as well as a thing or two that couldn’t possibly."
As I have repeatedly already said at length the staff's job is to man the fuck up and do their jobs, all of their jobs, including the parts they dislike. If they find that burden to ownerous then they should step down from their position. For everyone else the ignore feature was designed specifically for these sorts of needs. What staff should not do is unfairly ban users who have not broken any rules especially without specific written warning via PM. Sadly, some current and former mods seem unable to understand such a simple position no matter how many times it is explained to them. It is, never the less, the correct approach if one is interested in fairness and transparency which, I concede, the current ownership does not seem overly interested in.
You are just mad because you are out in front with Dayton for biggest wackydoodle now that gturner is gone.
Perhaphs he would be a better choice for owner/moderate than what we currently have passing for that.
Claiming that @gturner constantly lied is a lazy meme that has no basis in truth. It's kinda like how Roddenberry would constantly claim at conventions that in Harlan Ellison's original script for City on the Edge of Forever, Ellison turned Scotty into a drug dealer. No matter how many times Ellison disputed and debunked that canard, Roddenberry went right on saying it. Same thing.
Yep, no change there, just blatantly being an ass, coming in with no intention other than trolling the board and members, all the things that have always led to a ban. We just clarified some of the language.
What in the actual fuck dude. We know exactly why he left, he spelled it out in plain English for everyone to see: Being intentionally tone deaf isn't really a good look.
Well, I tried. I went through the whole thread trying to see if there was something I missed, and this post from the first page makes the most sense. Hard to hear, but probably true. Please lock my account. Until this place makes a very major course change, I won't be posting here.
Another one bites the dust. Thanks for trying @Mrs. Albert - seems like @gul 's head is farther up his own ass than we had previously thought.
We all see what we want to see, including you. My only comment on this is that Paladin was at one time a strong advocate for the sorts of thing he has now said caused him to leave. Since I consider both points of data, I think it's fair to say that we don't really know. If he wants to come back, he will. That's about the only thing anybody can know with certainty.
Before you go you should go to TK and read gturner gloat about how this is what he does and how he doesn't believe any of it, he just loves to see how much he can disrupt boards before he gets banned. See him gloat about being able to do it from the left. Then send Paladin the link. Shame for y'all to let the troll chase you off.
People are in it too deep now. It has been blown up well beyond what it was, and that can happen in communities, especially smaller forums like Wordforge. A forum addition, and a ban of a longtime troublesome poster is enough to make some people leave. That's okay. Hell, if gturner comes back I've already said I'll go, because I'd rather not be a part of something that values casual racism as acceptable entertainment. Everyone has their reason. In this case, a bit of a perfect storm seems to have happened. Whether people leave, or remain, does remain to be seen, but right now emotions are certainly high. I'll leave this point as a final note in the post: Just remember, folks, remembering all the murders, the theft, the lying, and the racketeering lead nowhere because it was so well hidden, but the Feds finally got Al Capone on tax evasion. Sometimes, you do what you have to do to remove a problem.
Pages 7 & 8 of this thread, I believe. http://www.trollkingdom.net/forum/i...otic-break-wf-implosion-banpool.148000/page-8
God damn it, @gul. You have run off yet another good poster with your obstinacy. Is that your ruddy goal? If not ypu may want to put your giant sized ego away and actually listen for a change.
