It's amusing to watch idiots like Zombie and Dinner think that people oppose Trump for partisan reasons, completely ignoring that he's a mentally ill fuckhead, deserving no support from anybody. I can't stand Pence, he is worse than Trump from a policy standpoint, but I nevertheless want Trump removed from office, even knowing that means a President Pence.

I think Trump is a repulsive, disgusting, profane and vulgar ass.

But I don't see the criticism he has been getting since the election as having anything to do with that.

Criticise him for chasing tail and being divorced twice. And for his arrogance and extremely inappropriate language.

And for that annoying twitter account.

But don't bust his ass for trying to keep a handful of Muslims temporarily out of the country or dismantling the Affordable Care Act.

At least with a President Pence, I could go to bed at night, not fearing waking up to nuclear war in the morning. Trump's temperament makes that a real possibility.

Two days ago, I'd have said the same thing. Then someone sent me an article written by a refugee of the Fundamentalist Christian sect Quiverful. I read it on my phone, but I'll get the URL and post it here.

No idea about the credibility of the site, but ...

Like I said, I've no idea about the credibility of the site, haven't had a chance to check it out or verify any facts, but it definitely sounds like stuff I've heard more than one person say.

If Trump blows the world back into the stone age, religious jingonism will be near the bottom of our concerns.

In a perfect world, Trump is removed, we suffer through Pence till the 2018 midterm that flips both houses blue and we elect a sane human being in 2020.

    There's no recovering from nukes.

Why shouldn't people who like the ACA "bust his ass" for trying to dismantle it? I mean hell, it looks like a lot of people on the right like the ACA, but don't like Obamacare.

Why do you clowns think President Trump is the least bit likely to start any kind of nuclear conflict?

Isn't that way over the top?

    Actually, YEAH.

Dayton, for example, often says "I really wanted Cruz and I hate Trump but...."

That's almost there without even trying.

I would have IMMENSE respect if one of y'all said (as Federal Farmer seems to be, full props to him) "I'm a Republican and I want tax cuts and a pro-life amendment and regulation cut in half and all the government giveaways done with BUT...fuck this guy!"

Dayton says "sooner Trump is gone, I get me a President Pence which I'm all about" and I respect that. Pence would do all kinds of shit that would be bad for people like me and I have no enthusiasm for having to fight that but...yeah, Pence is typical ordinary mainstream Republican and if he ends up president...ok, fine. Speak up about what I don't like and see you in 2020.

    Trump.
    Is.
    Different.

Extraordinarily so and in ways that are objectively dangerous to the country.

This is a man who took the Chairman of the JCOS off the National Security Council and added Steve Fucking BANNON.

This doesn't seem to you like something that, say, George W. Bush would have thought insane? Because he did. He expressly forbid Karl Rove from getting anywhere near National Security meetings.

    Trump.
    Is.
    Different.

Full and unequivocal credit to any conservative/Republican with the balls to say so.

And you think because of acting like an undisciplined 10 year old makes him more likely to start a nuclear war?

Even if he gave such orders they would never be obeyed.

I've a thread on my facebook paged where I linked some 7 or 8 articles, and there are many more, which describe - both during his term and currently - how Obama crossed lines that gave too much power to his successors and acted in very illiberal ways on matters of foreign affairs and "national security"

Conservatives are blinded by their echo chamber bubble. Indoctrinated to avoid all liberal media, thus they often are blithely unaware that "liberal media" often criticizes liberal politicians.

pointing out that previous presidents have acted contrary to things they previously said, even denied saying them, is child's play and can be done for any previous president. That is NOT why people are bashing Trump.

Yeah, that's what he's saying. There were Trump supporters who wanted Obamacare repealed, as long as the ACA was left alone. They didn't understand that the two were the same thing.

    Dominionism. The "Seven Mountains"

And yes, it's a very real thing. The article is quite correct, except in implying that the homeschool-quiverfull-etc crowd is doing it themselves. They aren't, there are MILLIONS of mostly rural voters who do not, necessarily, ever think of big sweeping concepts like dominionism...they just think it's a perfectly natural thing that this would be a "Christian Nation" that would expect everyone to submit to rule under "Christian" ideology. It's really the only world view most of them were ever exposed to from the 1950's until we got to the point where everyone had an internet connection. Now, with the internet exposing them to the reality that not everyone thinks like them, they are angry, afraid, confused and easily manipulated by those who promise to save them from this tsunami of liberalism.

So they vote readily for people like Pence, or Cruz, or Mike Lee, or Gov Bryant here in MS...to have their "Christian Nation" they think they are entitled to.
