It is not a few bad apples as these disgraceful behaviors seem very common place. The American left is becoming extremely irrational and we even have Nono trying to justify violence against people who disagree with him.

My suggestion is to stop going off the deep end and actually concentrating on getting people to show up and vote on election day. It would also help if dems ran candidates who were worth a shit instead of the same tired old failures who sold out decades ago.

A big problem with these stupid protests is thry never accomplish anything. Your people protest for a day but still don't bother to show up and vote on election day. I hear people say this protest was the largest since the 2003 anti war protests but those protests did jack shit. The war still happened and Bush got reelected because leftists don't vote when it matters.

Either change that or accept you won't accomplish anything.

While we are at it this quoted post is another excellent example of why you always fail. By you I mean the left in general. The name calling and fact free ranting does not convince anyone of anything other than piss them off so they won't vote for you.

This is why I say the left and the right both have major problems with facts and reality yet both like to pretend it is only the other guy.

Do you feel obligated to answer someone who’s persistently rude to you? There’s your answer. Get back to me when you’ve learned the distinction between “can’t” and “won’t.”

Not that you actually want an answer, as the last part of your post makes clear.

@Zombie wasn't rude to you in the slightest.

You're so full of shit. This thread is just a perfect example of that and the lame, weak games you play.

For someone who laments the lack of proper debate and interactions in Wordforge you sure are one of the biggest culprits.

Now go make me a sandwich.

Oh, if only we'd been NICER about the right's bigotry, bullying, pettiness, vindictiveness, sore-losing, sore-winning, and pseudo-science based classism.

And if only that woman with a black eye had gotten supper on the table faster.

    Suck it.

Bush got reelected because the Dems even back then were setting up the 2008 run for Hilary to win and didn't want to waste her going up against an incumbent President...even one as resoundingly unpopular as Bush. Whoops! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As for protesting....you're right. Women got the right to vote by staying at home barefoot and pregnant, and the mensfolk all loved the idea of women being equals our of thin air.

Blacks, Mexicans, Asians and Native-Americans all got equal rights because absolutely no one sat in restaurants or walked away from the fields and the white man came up with the idea to make brown people equal because we were so nice and accommodating.

I think if you and the other TK expats are super nice to the staff, they may consider bringing @gturner back here. Because that's how change happens--accepting the status quo.

You must be new here. Or you’re suffering from Goldfish Syndrome.

What I find interesting is the correlation between those posters who bitch that “every thread becomes about Dayton” and those who persist in trying to make so many threads about garamet.

Is that your plan for this thread? Granted, Dinner’s bullshit take on the topic has run its course, but I’m sure the more intelligent among you can take it in more interesting directions if you can be arsed to do so.

No, a big part of why so many people just say fuck it, I am voting for the other guys is because the left really has become extremely racist and want to always knee jerk call everyone a -ist or a -phobe and pretend that is a substitute for reaspned debate. Check out which side always tries to shut doen open debates and discussions, especially on college campuses, and you will find it is your team.

Start trying to actual take more reasoned opinions and stop trying to shut down debates with idiotic name calling and maybe you will actually win over more voters.

If you want a protest movement to make a difference then you have to copy what the tea party actually did and what left wing grpups rarely successfully do.

Namely, turn that anger into votes and campaign money and actually put the fear of god into politicians because they knew those people voted in every election including the primaries.

Get dems to do that and thn the whining will matter. Don't then these protests won't matter any more than BLM, the 2003 antiar protests, or 90% of the rest of the stuff the left moans about. Reliably sho up tp vote in numbers even on pff year primaries then maybe politicians will give a shit.

    Bull.

When I started pulling towards the right, I got called nasty names by some of the liberals here. I eventually came back to the left of center because there was only so much nose plugging I was willing to do with people who make it their mission to take rights away from others for no other reason than Bronze Age ideals just to save .0003 percent in taxes or whatever.

And the same people who attacked Liet for his infamous oreo comment for "my" honor are pulling the same shit the liberals did by pulling the old tired "Anna has no thoughts of her own" shtick that hit the sell-by date back before the iPhone had hit the market.

Diacanu is right. It's an excuse for the small minded weak willed knuckle draggers to use. If you don't believe that, just look at Oldfella. He doesn't make any bones about caring for Trump, he just wants liberals to piss their pants. I hope he feels the same way when new policies throws veterans under the bus and those around him still have to work three McJobs to make ends meet.

I don't much like the religious right either and will not vote for them but the hard left has indeed stuck its head up its own ass and thinks its shit doesn't stink. Sanders might have changed that but the base as too weak and disorganized to unseat the corporatists so fuck them. They got what they deserved.

You spoke about McJobs but what is the left offering? A dollar and hour raise for that part time McJob? They sure do oppose any meaningful job growth, block most housing development meaning prices keep skyrocketing as supply never meets demand, and ever higher prices everything from gas to electricity.

You want to know why Trump won the rust belt? He actually promised something different. He likely won't deliver but people got tired of the same old same old. Congressional Republicans will keep doing the same old same old but folks are hoping that getting tough on foreign currency manipulation and out sourcing will help them do better than a McJob. That cutting regulations will mean more jobs, more houses built (and so more affordable), and maybe gas and electricity rates stop spiking.

Those are the basics. Concentrate on those and dems will bounce back but the truth is they need time in the wilderness before they stop acting like tards.

Yeah, they wanted pie in the sky, they wanted pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
I'm sorry the lower middle class is tired of hearing the pot of gold is never coming, but it's never coming.
    Never.
    NEVER.
The fat cats looted the Leprechaun pot of gold, the dragon hoard, El Dorado, the philosopher's stone, and the fountain of youth a long fucking time ago.
And they'll gladly blast your fucking face off your skull to keep it all.
But hey, it was worth voting for the fuckers to keep darkie and faggots down, wasn't it?

Yeah, yeah, you think your shit doesn't stink. Give people like me a viable option which doesn't shout -ist and -phobe for legitimate concerns and maybe you might start winning elections. Until then enjoy what you get, dumb ass.

Hint: Stop telling white males they are evil, stop blocking everything, and actually start looking out for the common man including his desire for decebt jobs not just better pay at McJobs, and things might change. Go back to the New Deal blue collor coalition.

    The jobs are gone.
If I take your cookie, and give to to a Chinese guy, and he feeds it to a robot who incinerates it in it's furnace belly, I can't get the cookie back from the Chinese guy.
Trump thinks you can just get a gone-cookie back from the Chinese guy, ignoring the robot.
Not only did the robot burn it, it went to a ton of other countries after China, and before the robot.
Even if you had three seconds to snatch the cookie out of the robot's jaws, you have to trace the path of those other countries to get to the robot.
    Cookie's gone.
    Cookie's fucking gone.
You want a cookie, we gotta invent a whole new cookie industry.
That takes science, and that takes Repugs stopping the sabotaging of science with religious woo.
And that takes the knuckle-draggers to stop voting against science by sending religious crazies up there.

    It's as simple as that.
You smoke, you die of lung cancer.
You use bacon grease for butter, you're gonna have a heart attack.
Touch a red hot burner, your hand gets griddle marks.

Companies been moving overseas well before the recession for tax breaks.

They aren't passing those savings along to anyone but their fat cat buddies. That was gonna be the case with Clinton and most certainly for Trump.

    http://www.inquisitr.com/3928815/nate-silver-shuts-down-womens-march-with-one-statistic/

Nate Silver, who was the most accurate pollster this year and in previous years, throws cold water on the anti Trump marchers. Virtually all the marchers were in blue states Clinton won and not in the red states Democrats need to win to win elections. That means they really have to expand their reach in those red states if they want to unseat Trump in 2020.

My personal suggestions are to get off the PC bandwagon, stop letting fringe issues dominate, and try to win back those blue collar white voters who abandoned Dems in droves. Something like a return to the new deal coalition would work.

One thing is clear though and that is constantly lecturing them and calling them -ist or -phobe does not actually get them to want to vote for you.

Anything which drives the votes you need to get in those red states away from you. You can broadly support things like trans people without making free taxpayer paid $100,000 surgeries for criminals in jails your center piece. You should probably stop trying to put men with dicks in the ladies room with little girls too. Instead just quietly start building unisex restrooms.

If you want to try to change their opinions then have at it but if you act, as Dems usually do, self righteous and condescending about it then realize these people will just ignore you and feel good while they vote for the other guy. In short deemphasize the culture war bull shit and get back to the basics of good governance.

Speaking up for those with very little representation of their issue *is* good governance. How have you lived your entire life in one of the most liberal cities in one of the most liberal states and not realized this?

If our founding fathers had pushed harder to end slavery in 1787 ,we could've avoided a whole civil war and much of the bullshit racial issues that persist to this very day. If we'd have waited for the consrvate Evangelicals to come around on abortion, Ireland would have legalized it before we did.

I don't agree with all the tactics the left uses, but after this election I'm done with settling for scraps. If I'm to be hanged for stealing a loaf a bread as I would a car, then let's go for the heist of the century. Go big or go home.
