It's true that Trump has, so far, not taken any real legal action against the media. But it's troubling that he frames all news as legitimate or illegitimate based solely on whether the story is flattering to him, and that his supporters actually see nothing wrong with this. It's madness.

It's refreshing to see someone express their positive, constructive hopes for a Trump administration. That's a rarity. Usually the feeling is that conservatives love him because he pisses off liberals, and that's the long and short of it.

To nitpick, freedom of speech applies to the government not arresting or otherwise censoring unpopular speech and even that has limits. You can't yell "Fire!" in a theater when there is none, for example.

Likewise, free speech doesn't mean you bash your boss online and still expect to keep your job.

It isn't just about the government not being able to arrest people. Censorship is something anyone can do. And anyone can violate another person's civil rights. This was actually something the FedGov used to do in lieu of being able to do anything else during the Civil Rights era by charging people with violating the civil rights of people they'd assaulted or murdered after they'd walked thanks to jury nullification at local trials.

The kind of censorship I'm addressing isn't something that can really be compared to that.
