Now where will I buy my Craftsman tool? The end is near for Sears.

God, I hope so. I put my mom on my account in 2007 back when I have more emotions than sense. It's my oldest credit line, but I'll be glad to have an excuse to keep our credit separated from here on out. :brood:

Also, Rhianna's Fenty line sells shit that most women actually fit and sells more than two skin tone colored bras for those above a 38C cup size, so fuck it, I look forward to our new thicc lingerie overload.

Yeah.. A slow as fuck Buick that couldn't accelerate like the MINI I usually drive and had to choose between the 16 wheeler coming into my lane and the RV in the other one and....well, I'm here

Next time take the coverage unless you rent on an AMEX card. It's a bit spendier, but it stops all the games butt cold, because, well, you're covered.

I thought I did, but thanks to Penske Auto Group being vague cunts, I didn't know I didn't have it.

That said, Enterprise are bloodsucking leeches and will only get worse with one of their competitors going under.

I rented a Camry from Enterprise back in '02 or '03. I declined the insurance, and managed to basically tear off the driver side half of the front bumper, crunch the bottom side of the driver side front fender, and also did a pretty good number on the driver side front door along with the sill below the door. I had rented the car in Florida, and some old bat didn't look before changing lanes and forced me into a curb and clipped a construction barrier. She kept going, probably never realizing what she did. When I turned in the car the attendant was in a rush, and signed the car in without really looking at it. After flying back to NY, and leaving the airport I got a call from Enterprise, the person that called was saying that the car had damage and wanted to know how I was going to take care of it. I told them I had the signed paperwork showing the car was returned without damage and that it wasn't my problem. They tried a few more times, but since I had paperwork showing that the car was returned without damage they couldn't do anything.

I've never heard of Fry's electronics, just Fry's grocery from when I lived in Phoenix. But those sound like some unique stores - bummer to see them close.

Coincidentally, there's one in San Diego and it looks nothing at all like any of those.

Gonna miss the place, though :( was always nice to find odds and ends and stuff you can't find at a Best Buy, like an RCA to HDMI converter that you need to buy because your cheap ass stepfather bought a flat screen from 200-fucking-2 that predated the HDMI cable. :brood:

Guess I'll swing by this weekend and pick up some Raspberry Pi kits.

I'm presently working for a plastics company. We make plastic toolboxes for Stanley, Dewalt, and Craftsman. At least one line of them is identical across the brands, save for the color of some of the plastic and the stickers we put on the boxes. And the fucking markup on such things must be insane. Seriously. Because a number of aspects of making them are fairly casual. Nobody cares how many of them you put together, nor if you damage any of them while doing it.

I remember years back that two identical boxes, one marketed as a tackle box, and the other as a art supply tote sold for a huge price difference. The tackle box was about $10, maybe around $8. The art supply tote was around $30 maybe $40. The tackle box had the same compartments and dividers. The only thing that was different was the color. The tackle box was tan, the art supply tote was blue. I was taking various art and drawing classes at the time for an architectural program.

Almost all of males in the classes would buy the tackle box, almost all of the females would buy the art supply tote. The females, when it was pointed out that they paid a lot more for the art supply tote, would defend it, saying it wasn't the same thing. Side by side comparison showed them to be identical except for the color. But "It's an art tote, not a tackle box!" was the defense.

In TN, there was a big controversy because people discovered that if you sold a tool box, it was taxed at one rate, if you sold the same item as a "tackle box," it was taxed at a different rate. The reason for this was that the extra money from the tackle box went to the state department of natural resources, to you know, ensure that people had things to hunt and fish.

And the plastic company was literally bought by Stanley yesterday. It seems that they’re tired of supply chain delays and bought us so that they can shift more production to the US. They’re aiming for $6 billion in sales of plastic toolboxes by 2025.
