Gawd, I haven't heard of that in half a lifetime, seems like. I'd almost forgotten it existed.

But the more important question, even more so than bacon on burgers, is why you would bother with a burger at all when you can hit the pie shop for a fresh baked Aussie meat pie? Those are about the best things on Earth, in my book, so much so that I have them shipped to me on dry ice from the Aussie Bakery in Marietta, GA. That is the ONLY place in the U.S. where I've encountered the real deal other than Oz, and it was almost enough to keep me from wanting to move out of ATL a decade and a half ago.

Adelaide has a few 24 hour bakeries, it's nice being able to go for a walk and get a hot pie at any time day or night.

Inspired by the recent conversation, I went to the supermarket today and bought my supplies for dinner. That said I don't think you'd 100% approve.

well to be real, white suburbs in the post-war years never needed assimilation because they were all built with property covenants which forbid selling to non-whites.

Maybe what Brits (and Canadians) call "bacon" is not what Americans call "bacon"?

Be careful. You're becoming Muricanized. Or would that be Muricanised?

Now, show the class you have no sense of humor and take some sideswipe at my age and/or gender because you've long lost the ability to have a conversation here. :bergman:

Are you saying Lubed-Ass lubes his ass with American bacon grease? :chris:
    You're not? :(

BTW, some of the best hamburgers are found at places where burgers aren't the main thing they do. Mexican restaurants, for instance, or my lunch stop today:

It's an Italian place owned by a French immigrant and while the rest of the menu is excellent, their cheeseburger has become one of my favorites in town. Plus it's only $10 with fries, a drink, and tax.
