I'm pretty sure they stuck with the problematic hybrid engine. They should have taken the opportunity to switch to a more controllable, smoother, and higher performance liquid engine.
Business Insider: Virgin Galactic just rocketed its first passenger past the edge of space — but Jeff Bezos says its astronauts have 'asterisks' next to their names. https://www.businessinsider.com/vir...light-passenger-astronaut-height-bezos-2019-2
Ah, it runs on Flubber. The cupholders, the airsickness bags, the quarter-operated binocular stands . . . Lazy
Progress on their second (really third) spaceplane. Video at the link. Shatner supposedly has tickets to ride on one of the flights. It'd be interesting if he, or someone else connected to a big SF franchise, went on one the flights came back down and said something like, "Holy shit! We got a lot of things wrong! We've got to change how we do the series/films/etc. from now on!"
Sorry, but Elon Musk has these guys looking like amateur hour- rank hobbysits. While they're killing test pilots trying to emulate Alan Shepard's inaugural flight, SpaceX is flying astronauts into orbit and landing their rocket boosters on their own tails on platforms at sea.
Weren't you the guy complaining in another thread that NASA caused a lack of diversity in efforts to get to space? Seems to me that you ought to be applauding everyone who tries.
So, what you're saying is that when Tesla became the most valued car company in the world, other car companies should have just closed their doors. And when Apple became the most valuable computer company in the world, every other computer company should have just shutdown. Right? Because Tesla and Apple have clearly won, so everybody should just give up and let them do everything.
