or possibly we are bored with the subject already. To shut you (and others) up I say let's run the experiment. Throw some trans women into elite level female MMA and see what happens.
Maybe the typical fight injuries, maybe more severe, who knows? What's the worst that can happen if trans fighters don't have any advantages?

I have not noticed any particular difference between the "left" and the "right" in that regard. Both pretend to be extremely rational, both claim the other side isn't (by virtue of "anyone who doesn't think the way I do must be thinking wrong") and neither one could do serious epistemology if their lives depended on it. There are exceptions, of course, but they are not a majority on either side (obviously, since by definition "exceptions" cannot be the majority).

A statement such as yours says much more about your own prejudices than it does about "the left".

    Absolutely.

In fact, I'll take it one step further: I don't know why anyone would want to watch, either. Is it the same motivation as watching train wrecks?

I'm not a huge fan, but I watch occasionally and my motivation is the same as for any other sport - to be impressed by athletic ability. They aren't usually anything like a "train wreck". Do you watch boxing?

I've seen a few scenes in films, that's about it. People punching each other. It strikes me as the same level of "athletic ability" as gladiator fights. To me, the violence of deliberately trying to hurt someone far outweighs the "skill" of being able to do so.

Even as a kid I hated the Pepe LePew cartoons. They just weren't funny and I'd usually change the channel to some other Saturday morning cartoon when one came on.

Agreed. I also had a real problem with the Damsel in Distress motif. Maybe it's just because I'm from Brooklyn (where only the strong survive), but even as a kid I was wondering "Fer cryin' out loud, kick him in the cojones, why dontcha?" :jayzus:

I much preferred Roadrunner vs Wile E. Coyote, or Foghorn Leghorn vs chickenhawk.
I would accept a Sylvester and Tweety if the jokes surrounding the violence were good.
Sylvester and Tweety were Tom & Jerry with better snark.
If it was Pepe, or Speedy Gonzales, I'd check out, and run over Army guys with my trucks for homemade mayhem.

    Speedy was okay, if predictable.

He's come under fire for promoting stereotypes, but I've yet to encounter a Mexican-American who's been offended. Quite the opposite, in fact.

He did have one of the funniest lines ever in a WB cartoon though. He chased the cat up into the mountains and somewhere along the way fell into the snow. He pops up, all covered with snow, and says "Heeyyyy, I am the abdominal snowman, no?" Cracks me up every time.

I don't remember that one. But, I do remember having the impression that the cartoon was an attempt to show what an ass Pepe was and that men should NOT be acting that way. Or maybe that was my own "woke" bullshit in my 4 year old mind in 1968.

Well, see, there's a long long LONG LONG list of people with knowledge, experience, training, and expertise in a multitude of related disciplines with relevant actual factual knowledge on these topics that I can defer to without rotting my brain considering what some failed actor and TV host with a podcast decides to vomit over his mic on any given day.

If I want to know what it was like being the shitty actor in an otherwise brilliant cast who never got another decent role...I'll see what Rogan has to say.

you are aware the Joe has guests on his show that share their various types of expertise, right? It's the Joe Rogan Experience but it's not just Joe talking.
It's kind of like The Johnny Carson show - if it was just Johnny Carson by himself it might not be too successful. Hope I cleared that up for you.

The problem with the joe rogan experience for most people is you are starting with joe rogan. That is great if you like a loud obnoxious tough guy talking to people, but many people don't care for his macho male point of view asking questions. And a lot of people do like that perspective. Joe is a person who can piss people off and they do not have to watch him. Also the people who like him are free to watch him.

It is really just a matter of taste and joe pisses some people off. Considering he is an actor I would say his character is deliberate. I dislike joe rogan. His area of expertise simply bores me. I do not even think joe is transphobic or homophobic to be honest. I think he is just not interested in that culture because he is a guy who likes combat sports and that just happens to push a lot of gay guys away. I do not think joe wants to stop two men or two women from loving each other. I do not think he wants to stop trans people from transitioning. He seems to have educated himself to an opinion about his sport interest involving them.

frankly, this is america, the dude has supported his opinion based on the facts, and is not going further and telling people they cannot transition. The only thing he is saying is it is unsafe in this particular sport for trans people who have gone through puberty as their opposing gender to compete. Unless someone can point me to where joe went further than that I am going to defend him. Show me rogan saying trans athletes should not be allowed to compete with their gender in other sports.

One final caveat. If the combatants decide that they want to fight each other and see who wins knowing what they know about all of this, I say let them fight. Maybe it is not sanctioned, but if they want to do it for the sport of it then I am not saying no.

Any contact sport is unsafe. The biggest danger is an opponent faster, stronger, more skilled and meaner than you.

I can't think of one person I know that looked at Pepe LaPew and thought, "what a cool guy." Everyone laughed at his dumb ass getting turned down by the cat. Kids don't walk away thinking they can do the shit that he does and think it's cool. The fact that liberal SJW's can't see that is not surprising, but dumb nonetheless.
