As an aside, ain't it odd how clarinet name just...skips over the tenor clarinet? Like how saxes have one for every voice in a choir, but somehow we just said "welp, this is bass clarinet, and you get two types of Contrabass" but no tenor or baritone.

Ab Sopranino - Piccolo
Eb, D - Soprano
C - Mezzo
Bb, A (Basset) - Alto
G (Turkish) - Contralto
F (Basset Horn) - Counter Tenor
Eb Alto - Tenor
Bb Bass - Baritone
Eb Contra Alto - Bass
Bb Contrabass - no change
and they'd all go down to low C

Can we also discuss how fucking annoying it is we cannot change the pitch of our voice to be higher? I totally hate being a base. It would be so fucking awesome if I could just get an alto larynx so I could chirp. It was what dropped me out of chorus and singing. I love doing it, but it ends up being just another reminder of what this body is and has developed into.
