In Scotland you get a jag, not a jab.

The rest was clearly caused by the vaccine.......

Heavy arm all day, massive balls. No bad symptoms.

Pfizer seems to be the good stuff. The AZ industrial ethanol must get reserved for Boris backers and Trump fans.

That map should be correlated with education standards and voter registration.

Pretty sure you'll see a pattern emerge. :?:

I know. Moderna is so clearly inferior to AZ. :dendroica:

We might might finally be getting there.
Coronavirus infections could be driven to low levels and the pandemic at least temporarily throttled in the United States by July if the vast majority of people get vaccinated and continue with precautions against viral transmission, according to a strikingly optimistic paper released Wednesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The report comes as administration officials and leaders in many states are sounding more confident that the country can return to a degree of normalcy relatively soon. President Biden on Tuesday announced a new vaccination goal, saying he wants 70 percent of adults to have had at least one dose by July 4.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said Wednesday the modeling results give Americans a road map out of the pandemic — so long as they continue to get vaccinated and maintain certain mitigation strategies until a “critical mass of people” get the shots.

I do not know what to think about private distribution. I went to CVS, Walgreens, and Publix repeatedly for the shot, along with the florida public health department. I have personally had some great experience with the florida health department, and I also like Publix pharmacy for their free distribution of certain things like general antibiotics in conjunction with free health clinics.

All of them were fucked up IMO here in florida compared to Walmart. None of them were doing sign ups at pharmacy locations. All of them were online and then you play phone tag with them to get an appointment even when you are screaming just text me the time and I will make sure to be there. I was actually shocked with Publix as they are normally right on top of these things because they are so popular here in florida. It is one of the reasons why they are so popular with the elderly because they make it so easy.

I do not know how walmart was for months, but I just wandered in after trying tor a week or two with the health department, Publix, Walgreens, and CVS to sign up and walmart is just announcing to show up and sign up at the pharmacy window. I could not do that at the other places, and I fucking asked. I actually never bothered with walmart because none of the other places could do it. I am actually glad walmart is so organized and doing it because the other places are not the hub for the poor shoppers like it is.

CVS and walgreens are all over the damned place and should have been the awesome of vaccine distribution to the middle and elderly class. I know many of them have a daily shipping logistics things going between pharmacy suply hubs in the state because they do not want opiods being kept on site in large quantities. They should have been able to handle setting up refrigerated hubs and appointments with their local pharmacies as required. I can see the state health department not having that capability, but they should have been able to do it.

Now begins rewarding the bad behavior and training people to wait for vaccines the next time. It seems states are now trying to bribe people to get the vaccine. A where is my fucking lollipop plan for adults to get vaccinated has started to try and get the dembasses to get stuck.

On one hand I understand it is good to try and bribe the pissbabies for the sake of the public. On the other hand this is the way entitlement becomes the norm. You are giving away free shots, but that is not enough. They want a beer or a car, or whatever you are going to give them to adult and get a shot. This is fucking bad in the long run. This trains people to expect a prize for doing the right thing when it is free. Now all the selfish people who got their shot are going to be bothered because they did not get a gift for doing it. I can already hear my fuckin grandmother say she got it too soon because she did not get anything for it. You are fucking 90 and you didn't get mortally ill. You can still walk around your neighborhood because your lungs were not damaged. God, you are so fucking blessed that you are alive now and we actually did things for you so you could avoid being sick until you got the shot, and you are still going to need a god damned prize you are never going to redeem anyway to get your shot.

The prize is you don't die or get sick. I am fucking glad I did not have to get the fucking sickness. It was fucking free too. This was going to get you sick. God it looked awful to get this shit. If i make it to 90 (No fucking way) I am going to be getting any vaccine I can get. I see what happens to old people when they get sick in these communities. You go from healthy and smiling with your friends to dead or a an actual zombie. You are one sickness away from death or severely disabled. This shit will hit you when you are younger too.

Nah. Just a booster that’s tailored to the variants. A third dose of the original vaccine can help protect you against the variants but it’s not as effective as a tailored booster. This is a very preliminary study and they’re being extra precautious.

Got my first injection of Pfizer the day before yesterday (during the time I was too busy for Wordforge). A very slightly sore arm for a day and a half, but that's all.

My wife got her first injection this morning (about 6 hours ago), and now has a sore arm as well. It looks like we're not going to get any spectacular symptoms this time around. We'll find out how it goes next month...

Great they are offering incentives, but to be honest it's also a bit disturbing - grown ass people have to be persuaded to get vaccinated? You can't afford, it? Fine it's free! You still won't get vaccinated? Okay we'll fucking PAY YOU how about that? As I said my mother-in-law (diabetic and elderly) won't get vaccinated because a tiny percentage of people got side effects. :dayton:

Some people won't get vaccinated for political reasons (newsflash! Politicians come and go but there's only one "you") or religious reasons or stubbornness any number of reasons - I get it.
But come on folks, it's a virus like any other - let's not get wrapped around the axle over a simple vaccination.

Good points, but on the other hand if someone thinks Covid is just going to go away by itself why not endorse them hey.

the two have nothing to do with each other. Do you think anybody switched their vote from Trump to Biden because covid didn't go away as he predicted? Or that anybody will switch their vote from Biden to whomever runs against him (if he survives) in 2024 if Biden talks out his ass and his predictions go south? Sorry things aren't that simple.

Absolutely there were people who didn't vote for Trump because he bungled the US response.

That's what I've been thinking and saying about the J&J shot: use it in creative ways to hit targets of opportunity. A few truckloads of the stuff in Florida during spring break might have made a huge difference. Anywhere there are large gatherings of people...maybe give out free tickets at concerts. The mRNA vaccines may be marginally more effective, but none of them will work sitting in a bottle on a shelf.
