We gotta get Matt laid. Last time this came up we got a volunteer. Any takers? We'll crowd source airfare and spending money. This can't go unresolved. @ed629 !!! You're needed. @Summerteeth , you know any local talent?
I have to agree. Getting laid is not a necessity, nor is it really worth the effort. Society is so judgmental on all of that. First you have to go through the effort of getting laid, which is not that hard if you have no standards. It does not end there, then the standards come in. This person or that person does not count because you paid them, or they are ugly. Steadily you end up having to get laid by more and more high maintenance people so you can satisfy people who call themselves your friends. I just got rid of all the judgmental friends who think I need to get laid and started chilling with geek friends who are more concerned with anime and online games.
Five people killed and 40 injured after weekend shootings in Chicago - CNN Okay technically not "mass shootings" but Chicago still manages to bring their A Game more often than not, so credit where credit is due. And the best part? No arrests yet in the killings. I would hate to see people get in trouble over their shenanigans so I guess that's a plus!
you have a hard on for chicago. it seems to be a side effect of your whattaboutism combined with your racism.
"Chicago is Everything Bad" is an article of faith that the right-wing noise machine disseminated to its followers during the Obama administration, and they've been obediently parroting it ever since.
So it is another in a long line of derangement syndromes caused by too much faux news and being a shitbag (aka republican). I hope there is a cure for this because there sure are a lot of them out there.
2 people have been arrested in the suspected road rage shooting death of a 6-year-old boy in California Not a mass shooting, but relevant to this thread in that it's another great example of patriotic Americans exercising their second amendment rights. Make an improper lane change? Shoot a six-year-old in the gut until he bleeds out. God bless America and god bless the second amendment!
When I was 20, a friend and I planned a road trip from San Diego (we got to go to a scientific conference) to the Grand Canyon, up to Vegas, through the sticks to Sequoia National Park then down to LA for the return flight. We were confused when looking up the driving rules about crossroads. "OK, so you all have to stop. Who gets to start off first?" "Whoever stopped first". "The fuck? That works? No-one would do that in the UK!" "Yeah, in the UK you'll just get called a cunt. Over there they'll fucking shoot you."
If you know the American southwest, what you just posted makes no sense unless you planned on driving hundreds and hundreds of miles out of your way.
And yet we did the drive. We were young and figured 6-8 hour drives were fine if there were two of us, but forgot the 55mph limits and the sheer monotony of US roads.... We looked at going via Death Valley but decided against it due to the name. We didn't make Diego to the Canyon in one day - stopped in Flagstaff overnight. Stopped between Vegas and Sequoia in some bumfuck little town I don't recall the name of. Near a lake. McDonalds served us near-raw burgers. We didn't actually make Sequoia - made it most of the way up the mountain but the rangers turned us back as there was snow coming in and, having come from Diego, we didn't have snow chains. So we got a motel near the base and then drove to LA the next day. And no, we obviously didn't know anything about the US at this point we hadn't seen in films. A week in San Diego didn't really help. I was still freaked out by the small, aggressive customs lady at the airport who demanded "what type of conference?" "Umm, scientific" "WHAT KIND OF SCIENCE???!!!" This was pre-9/11, bear in mind.
The northwest part of the Canyon is nice, but not really the part you want to see. That's the part that all the Vegas tourists visit or take helicopter rides to. If you really want to see the best parts of the Canyon, you go to the main part through Tusayan, AZ... which is a fuck of a lot longer drive from Vegas and would require some serious backtracking. I like driving the U.S. southwest, mainly because we don't really have desert where I live. Prior to COVID, I spent a lot of time in southern California, Nevada, Arizona and sometimes New Mexico for work. I know that part of the country pretty well. You definitely drove all over the place but what the hell... so long as you had fun!
Awesome! Now you can cross "getting called a fag by an 80 year old woman in Vegas" off your bucket list!
speaking of The Blackhawks when I was a kid I had an autographed picture of Keith Magnuson when he made an appearance at Danley's Lumber in Gurnee (might have been Waukegan - it was many years ago).
Bucket lists are for folk who have been suddenly confronted by their mortality and are afraid of it. I'm not delaying my ticket out of this shit just to swim with some fucking dolphins. Rapists of the sea.
Some of us have opportunity lists. Like how many times are you going to get invited to an orgy of midget pokemon cosplayers? I may not be a pokemon fan, but hell yeah I am there. I am not necessarily seeking it out before I die. It also does not have to be sexual either.
Most of them are scams to try and get your bank account info. Do you know how many times I have tried to respond to them only for them to ask what my ss number and bank account info are? fool me once shame on you, fool me a thousand times and I have to change my credit card numbers another time.
