Playing Golf With Your Friends with my son getting a kick out of watching, then he started playing and turns out all the things that looked like they were easy but Daddy was bad at are actually hard after all. He loves the boat when the ball goes in the water.

Forza 7, usually play once a week. I'm already about half way through the game. Haven't lost a single race, or come in any lower than first place. I'm already bored of it.

Reached a point in Momodora where the platforming finally gets a bit annoying (by my standards). 91% in, that's pretty good.

Trying out Tidalis. It's a 3 in a row kind of game where arrows count instead of physical proximity and chain reactions will be important. My brain might be too old and distracted to get very good at this, but it should be fun.

EDGE is more precision platforming and less puzzle than I expected, but there's enough going on design-wise that it's fun anyway.

I'd love to continue Outer Worlds, if I could get it to run for 5 goddamn minutes without crashing.

Give Riders Republic a try. Not car racing, but it's a hell of a lot of fun. You race/do stunts on mountain bikes, skiis, snowboards, wingsuits, etc. in a sandbox map that is a based on several US national parks. And it's on sale for $25 right now at a lot of places.

I watched a 3 hour you tube video of Jedi: Fallen Order from beginning to end and decided I probably didn't need to buy the game. But, now they're talking about Jedi: Fallen Order 2. Is it worth playing even though I already know how it ends?

That happened to me two thirds of the way through my first playthrough, I had to start a new game from scratch in order to finish it. It was infuriating.

Finished Far Cry 6 this week, I'm a little disappointed that there's no brutal depressing twist at the end. There's a tiny one, but there's nothing really unexpected about it.

Started Fallout 4 again. One of the few games I've played but never won. This time, I'm playing the pure vanilla game - no mods, no cheats. I'm finding it impossible to follow the main quest. The side quests are necessary to level up and get better equipment. Right now, I'm stuck at the Molecular Level because I can't beat the mirelurk queen at The Castle. and I'm not going to play the BOS faction.

I really couldn't tell yo. Squadrons was ok, but I finished it a lot faster than I though it would take. I don't think I play Fallen Order much after I posted that I was playing it.

Well I was playing Star Citizen until the developers activated Easy Anti-Cheat, and now I can't log in because their implentation isn't recognizing Linux (via Lutris). Everything was working swimmingly, and I got better performance on Linux than I ever did on Windows, so of course they had to go and fuck it up.

Playing Death Loop and having a good time, although I wish I'd got it on PC rather than PS5 to play with keyboard/mouse.

Having gotten back into a replay of Spider-Man I was going to buy Miles Morales cheap for the PS4, but the lack of PS5 availability seems to have made the price jump back up for the PS4 version.

    Finally picked up Partisans:1941.

The setting is WW2 in eastern Europe, and the voices tend to be in Russian (I think?). Text is in English or German, depending on if it's player or enemy characters.

Kind of a Wasteland 2 feel to the action screens, but in either real or slow time rather than turn based/initiative. Very big on stealth and enemy sightlines.
You pick up new characters every so often which allows for squad customization and to do more on the camp/resource screens like heal, build, or forage, along with side missions that you don't play through.

Usually multiple goals in each map along with the main one. (Kill the commandant, but also destroy the AA guns or communications station). At least once the main objective is complete you aren't automatically finished the level and have time to go on to the secondary goals, allowing for some creativity.

it's a little precise for a game that relies on stealth and melee attacks which can be difficult-lots of saving or you'll be reliving the same mistakes repeatedly.

I'm finding the delay on grenades makes them a bit useless-enemies can scatter on sight out of range (and they hear them land too, so...).

Definitely worth the $15 on sale.

Brute-forced my way into the second world in Myst. There's several obvious possibilities of "things telling me what to do next" but I'm not sure what to make of it. Definitely a lower density of apparent useful moving parts than I'm used to in point-and-click puzzle games.

    Myst is progressing.

English Country Tune is kinda like someone took the cross product of Sokoban and Orbox and kept going. It's making me think in different ways about surfaces in three dimensions and definitely a little challenging.

I didn't know anyone else here played. I started with an Aurora MR starter pack back in April '20 when everything shut down. I'd been resisting my friends that played for years, telling them to get back to me when the game actually launched. But, the rest is history. I may have gone a tad bit to far...

    Damn!

Nice fleet, though! My fleet consists of:

    Avenger Titan (Starter)
    RSI Mantis
    CNOU Nomad
    RSI Constellation Phoenix

I made it all the way up to having a Carrack, but it was just too much ship for me. I went back to my Connie Phoenix, which comes with a Lynx Rover (subbed with an Ursa Rover for now) and a P-52 Merlin snub fighter.

I've been playing video games with the same ten people for about the last eight years. I'm the transport and logistics guy. Another guy is the industry guy (Orion, MOLE, Prospector, Reclaimer, etc.). Another is the military guy (Idris-K, Kraken, Kraken-P Polaris, etc.). Another is the exploration guy (Carrack, Odyssey, Endeavor with the space telescope and particle collider modules, etc.). That way we don't overlap (much) and when Org permissions become a thing, we can designate who can "borrow" and board our ships.

Yours is a really good solo fleet though. I really like those ships. When I introduce new players to the game, I try to talk them into going ahead and getting a Cutty Black because you're going to end up in one eventually. EVERYONE owns a Cutty Black at one point in their gaming life. But, the Titan and Nomad are my fall-back recommendations. I don't particularly care for CNOU, but there's just something about the plucky little pickup truck. You're also right about the Carrack. GREAT ship, but while you can run it solo for now, running cargo, once its full functionality is implemented, it's going to require friends to crew or expensive AI NPC's.

My first rule when it comes to buying ships is that I don't buy ships that don't have beds. My Harbinger and Perseus are "forever" ships, but the Ares Ion and Super Hornet are just LTI tokens until something better comes along. The Retaliator only exists because it'll be the first ship to get modular components and I want to see how that works. The 890J is "home." Everyone else is excited about the prospect of colonial outposts and land claims, but for me, the name of the game is STAR Citizen, not Planetside Colonial Outpost Citizen. I bed log on the 890J, out in deep space, every time log out for the evening.

Exactly. I choose ships I can solo in because I never know when anyone else is going to be online to crew up. My Connie is my forever ship. It has everything I need to travel the various systems that will become available in the game, without having to stop for food, fuel, or to get a hab on a station. Plus, lots of windows to see what's going on.

The 890J is a floating fortress, though I get lost super easy in it every time I take the tour. I'll be like "ah, here's the bri-, no, that's the bathroom." Like you, I'm not much for CNOU, but the Nomad's the perfect little home in space. It reminds me of Balok's ship in the original Star Trek for some reason, and the truck bed on back is great for just about anything from cargo to a smaller vehicle.
