The juxtaposition made me think she was speaking of Ukrainian labs. Maybe that's what ff was thinking.

So why speak out on it? Russia would certainly like to push the narrative they're still operating; it's a good basis on which to say there are bioweapons there.* And let's not forget the whole "COVID came from the US-funded biolab in Wuhan" that she slipped in at the end of the video. I'm sure that will play real well with our efforts to get China to not align with Russia.

*I am not concerned in the slightest that Russia would take the research there and weaponize it. They can do that in their own labs safer and more effectively.

Mitt Romney is maybe overhyping his outrage a bit -- we'll see what he says about the next Republican to spout off like this -- but he's not wrong that she's spreading Russian propaganda, and she is making it harder to get China on board with not supplying arms, which may cost lives many lives if we fail.

And? Botulism is a deadly pathogen but every hospital in the US (and a number of doctor's offices) has it on hand in the form of Botox. Not merely because it is a "wrinkle remover" but because it is used to control muscle spasms. Any facility in the US that has a sample of the COVID virus on-hand has a deadly pathogen onsite. It's not nearly as dangerous as botulism, but since it can kill people, it is considered a deadly pathogen.

Eh, Botox is the toxin the pathogen produces, not the pathogen itself. Spilling a vial of botox into the ventilation system is not the end of the world (nor, AFAIK, even the end of the hospital).

I wasn't aware that we were at war with anyone that would put us at risk for any of those to escape.

Whatevs. The point being that if I show up at the local hospital with an infectious disease in my system, they have a pathogen on site. People don't automatically shitbricks because there are sick people at a hospital.

Again, I've dealt with Russian troll farms, and he's not up to their level, and I can't imagine that anyone would describe him as "useful" so that leaves only one thing.
