Perhaps there could be a number of "attacks by kraken" on Russian ships in the area overnight too?

Did anybody else notice one of the videos of a Russian column either last week or the week before, one of the vehicles was flying a USSR flag? Not even trying to hide it.

Or, more likely, it's dated footage being used as propaganda.

I always thought Bush Jr. was an asshole while in office, but compared to the buffoon that occupied the White House from 2016 to 2020, he comes off as quite the statesman.

The lesson here is that just when you think America has hit rock bottom, it can keep digging.

Could it be like some of our American "patriots" flying the confederate battle flag? :chris:

Yes, Trump has rehabilitated quite a few people's reputations, in an odd sort of way.

He also makes Nixon look relatively honest.

Campaigning in 2020, Biden spoke about the confrontation he saw coming.
"Putin has one overriding objective: To break NATO, to weaken the Western alliance and to further diminish our ability to compete in the Pacific by working out something with China," Biden told CNN's Gloria Borger at the time.

That's not good. Russia is developing a pattern of accusing others of planning to do things that they intend to do.

Far-fetched, methinks. He's not going to be able to sell "de-Nazify Poland!"
I think the total number is much, much higher. Perhaps 12-15,000. The scale of this debacle is absolutely astonishing.

    Scratch one more Russian general.

Do you think he's actually selling "de-Nazify Ukraine" to the Russian people, or do you think they're smiling and nodding out of fear?

I read a thread that under Russian logic, Russia is the ultimate anti-Nazi nation/people. Anyone who is anti-Russian is therefor anti-anti-Nazi aka Nazi.

Seems a familiar false dichotomy. :diacanu:

He can tell the Russian people anything. If he pulled out of Ukraine tomorrow and had 25,000 dead soldiers, it would be announced as a great victory.

It's what he can sell the rest of the world.

One of the ways Fidel Castro was able to stay in power for so long was hollering "Mafia" at anyone who pissed him off. Then there was ISIS who used the term "Crusaders" as a rallying cry, further back the Romans used Carthag as their boogeyman...it's a sorry chapter of human history, that contrary to Mark Twain's opinion does repeat itself. :clyde:

Is the rest of the world actually buying anything he's saying now, or are his remaining allies just going along whatever he says because it benefits them?

Most of the world, no. But India and China haven't joined in the caravan of sanctions. They'd probably have to if Putin were stupid enough to make a move against NATO.

The Russian military has special railway repair units, so they won’t be down long but when supply chains are already stretched every disruption helps.
