did we do this one yet? interesting though, is that when I googled the killer by name, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution shows pictures of a couple of different Black men with info about this triple homicide on the image search but not the story itself. here's the actual mugshot yet here we have this guy on google image, withthe statement below his picture saying " Atlanta Journal-Constitution Suspect arrested in Georgia gun range shooting deaths; 3 killed during apparent robbery"... No wonder certain residents of the CSA have such confused views on race...
And the burglaries and assaults prevented by the would-be victim having a weapon? Gun grabbers want them to happen unopposed. False dichotomies based on narrow anecdotes are fun.
The vast majority of burglaries DO happen unopposed, because burglars aren't fucking idiots and pick empty houses.
Of course, you could present evidence to that effect, except the GOP blocks any funding on research into gun crime and the effectiveness of guns. It would make you wonder why that is, if you didn't already have a big "guns = safety" sign in your mental image reassuring you that you don't need to question such things.
Or ones with 80-90 year old grannies who either don't have a gun, or would be flung across the room by the kick of a fucking .22 so having one would be just as useless as not.
Reductive and false. Guns are a useful force equalizer when used competently. That DOES happen, but no politically motivated "study" is going to acknowledge the distinction. All shootings must be lumped together in service of the "guns are always bad and must be banned" narrative.
Held a Glock, fired a .22 bolt action in Scouts. Seen a Magnum fired. Almost lost my fucking eardrums in the process.
Anyone who signs that study would be forever labeled as incompetent. very easily. No one is going to put out a study showing such incomplete analysis.
Everyone asking for it is demanding confirmation bias. They want the "more guns = more gun deaths" drum to beat while denying the entire concept of situational nuance.
I also shot a .22 rifle in Boy Scouts. They don’t kick that bad. Did you also have to take a gun safety class before hand?
The point of federal funding, if applied properly, is to AVOID bias. The GOP don't want such studies because the NRA threatened to pull support if they ever allowed them. What do you THINK the NRA is scared of?
