I like the visuals but the theme will have to grow on me. I don't dislike it but it doesn't grab me like other Trek themes have.
Makes sense. I mean, Mr. Adventure was not exactly written to be the sharpest pencil in the drawer. And 10 years from cadet to lieutenant seems reasonable.
I like it. I wonder if they'll work some melodic TOS references into the episode scores. I don't think they'll try to replicate the heavy brass and timpani that characterized the TOS sound -- today, that would be stylistically jarring -- but TOS scores had some recurring motifs that were really distinctive and would be fun to repurpose.
The new 'Star Trek' series couldn't come at a better time Fluff piece by CNN with Rod Roddenberry Jr. spouting all the usual Star Trek tropes. This part made me laugh, though: I had no idea after all these years that one of the goals of the Enterprise's five-year mission was to seek out adventure!
Is that the one where Leonard Nimoy draws a flower tail on an animated Spock and then has an identity crisis?
This definitely sounds familiar. More at the link. https://www.engadget.com/star-trek-...RBceuBkUWtXri5x1OY_0QYShGc_P9of2&guccounter=2
Well, FF has been told to hate it by blowhards, so he's not gonna think for himself, and even try to like it now.
I've yet to see a review from those who have actually watched some episodes that wasn't absolutely gushing about how good this show is. I'ma go out on a limb and suppose that FF is again utterly full of shit. Random thought: the actor who played M'Benga in TOS was ~27 when he appeared. Babs Olusanmokun is now 37 and he's situated in the timeline some 7-8 years earlier SO... I head-canon that the guy in TOS is not the same person, but a younger brother or some such.
Well THIS is gonna piss off the canonistas Trek Central is reporting that IGN note in their review that Canadian actor Adrian Holmes will play now Admiral Robert April Still, another great review Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Series Premiere Review - IGN
that info has been out for a while now. Pretty sure the character trailer s up thread in the last two pages. you're so busy pre programming to hate this show that you didn't actually find out even that sort of basic info?
Well....we've seen they have the plastic surgery technology to turn you into any species (Romulan, Klingon, even Vidiian), and that includes skin color. Maybe April just decided "y'know what? I'm getting a negro-plasty".
Hey retard, the review I posted, the guy had watched several episodes. Maybe stop going out on a limb and realize that not everyone is sucking Goldsman's dick. The show is probably going to be the same mess as Discovery and Picard, but people like you are completely blind to that because these shows are woke and that's all that matters to people like you.
