@Chaos Descending is, and I can't overstate this enough, overjoyed. Should he state that these laws are going too far I will of course revoke and apologise for this misrepresentation of him.
This means, all Chaos Descending needs to do to keep his wife is rape her, get her pregnant, then sue for custody and child support. Then he doesn't need to worry about her running away from him again.
Biden backs anti-abortion Republican for Kentucky judgeship in apparent McConnell deal Sources: https://jezebel.com/biden-set-to-appoint-anti-abortion-kentucky-judge-to-li-1849126339 https://archive.ph/2022.06.29-22231...candidate-apparent-mcconnell-deal/7767539001/ Edited to fix Courier-Journal link
It's Lucy pulling the old football away from a perpetually running Charlie Brown. Biden has called Mitch McConnell his friend, and an honorable man as recently as a few months ago. I think he honestly believes it. He's a fool to believe it, but then Joe Biden is Catholic, he's anti-abortion in his own personal beliefs, and he has said in the past he doesn't believe women have sole rights to their own bodies. This may be a coinciding of ideals and personal beliefs with someone who he thinks will play fair because they have similar ideological views on abortion. Either way, it's exceptionally short sighted, naive, and foolish given McConnell's history.
Yeah, that sucks. You know what else sucks? That the only difference between Stalin and Hitler is in the methods that they used to commit genocide. Stalin opted for the "reasonable" method of starvation, while Hitler went with the industrialization model. Both are absolute shitbags, but taking out both would have involved throwing far more people into a meat grinder than WWII already was. You want to have some fun? Look up General Patton. He would have happily led a war against the Soviets in 1945, right after the Germans surrendered. He claimed that not only could he make it look like the Soviets started it, but that all he'd need in terms of forces were Germans armed with American weapons. Even if that were true, Patton's views on things like race aren't exactly something that should be celebrated, by any stretch of the imagination. So it is dubious, at best, that if he'd have gotten his wish, that what came after defeating the Soviet Union would have been a positive. I get why you want to complain about the US supporting Ukraine in this instance, but you're missing the larger picture. No, I'm not going to say that Ukraine is a role model nation. I'm saying that with the US (and Europe) coming out against Putin so explicitly, that when the US, or the EU, attempts the kind of arbitrary imperialist bullshit that Putin's trying to do with Ukraine now, it'll be a lot harder for the US and EU to get any kind of support. If Bush's bullshit invasion of Iraq made Putin think that he could launch offenses with no consequences, I'm saying that his invasion of Ukraine will make it harder for the US and the UK to launch bullshit invasions with no consequences.
Can't we just call an ectopic pregnancy something else? The embryo is never going to turn into a child. It's more like a miscarriage that gets stuck inside the mom. And it's not an abortion, because the body already basically aborted the embryo. It's more like a removal of the leftovers from that miscarriage, that also needs to happen to save the life of the would-be mother. Ideally, I'd rather not see abortion bans, but if these hick states must have them, at least redefine what ectopic pregnancies are so lives can be saved.
It should be telling, and likely is, that they're also trying to ban abortion pills, and even contraception. The whole idea is punishment. If this were about saving babies, the GOP would have introduced legislation for, bar none, the best pre-natal and post-natal care in the world.
You tell me. Does the whole Nugan Hand Bank affair have anything directly involved with WWII? No? But if it weren't for WWII, the US never would have created the CIA, and if it weren't for the CIA and WWII, then Nugan Hand Bank wouldn't have been a thing. Am I right? Or, to put it another way, without Reagan's War on Drugs, there couldn't have possibly been the Iran-Contra Deal, where the CIA sold cocaine in order to pay for weapons for the Contras (as well as Afghan rebels). And hey, do you think that the US could have made it to the Moon if we hadn't ignored the fact that Werner von Braun had used slave labor to build his V-2 rockets? I mean, holy fuck, we all can agree that the shit that happened in Germany during the years 1933-1945 were fucked up beyond all recognition, but if we'd have subjected guys like von Braun to actual justice (nevermind the fact that the Allies chose to ignore that Japanese forces engaged in eating POWs for no reason other than they could) then he never should have been allowed to do anything other than sit inside of a prison cell. Instead, we hired him to basically accomplish the pinnacle moment of American technology. I'm a goddamned space geek, and whilst I can grasp why folks utterly hate von Braun, I kinda have to blink when it comes to the fact that if it weren't for him, the US wouldn't have landed on the Moon in 1969. YMMV. So, please, tell me why the US was wrong to give shelter to von Braun and his cohorts (who went out of their way to surrender to the US instead of the Soviets). There are points to be had, but I don't know how to compare them to the fact that if it weren't for von Braun being given a pass for what they did during WWII, humanity would never have landed on the Moon in 1969.
For sure. There is 50 years of history that shows that banning abortion was always about punishment, and never about the would-be child. Misogynists like @Paladin, @TheLonelySquire, @Chaos Descending, and @Scott Hamilton Robert E Ron Paul Lee are proof positive of that.
A woman who’s eight weeks along with an ectopic pregnancy does not have an unborn child. She has a life-threatening medical emergency that needs to be resolved.
Let me guess, he dismisses "ectopic pregnancies" as fake news being used to justify slaughtering innocent, unborn children in the name of convenience for immoral women who should be punished for their sins?
