Crossing my fingers, toes and eyes.

Oh, and Conservatives are making a big deal about a new poll showing over a million Americans switched from Democratic to Republican. They think they are a shoo in.

But it doesn't actually say that, according to three other data analysts, it's a flawed model projecting states that don't show registration by party, and the real number is no change.

    Just like it ever was.

State level madness from WI here, which is being promulgated by Republicans in Congress and the Supreme Court:

A Scott Walker appointee says he gets to remain on a state board as long as he wants, even though his term has expired. The WI Supreme Court goes along with it because of course they would.

Well, apparently - according to an observer I trust and sources he trusts, the EPA decision was not as bad as it could have been (which is to say they didn't fully implement the non-delegation insanity that would have basically disassembled the federal government) but lest anyone relax, they are toying with the "Independent State Legislatures" doctrine in the NC case for next term which will spare the GOP the need for a violent mob in the capital for their next coup.

And the effective end of democracy in the U.S. will in it's own way destroy the world just as much as the other decision could have.

Even if the Dems somehow manage to get everything they want in November, it may well already be too late unless both Alito and Thomas stroke out before October.

One of the biggest insults on right wing message boards is to call somebody a beta cuck. Regarding the North Carolina case, that would truly be the end of democracy because the state legislature would draw up the maps in any manner they see fit and then have the power to overturn the results of any election they don’t like. In essence the state legislature is the supreme ruler and everyone else (hi Republicans!) is a beta cuck.
