    "Exit interview". FFS.

I've never had one of these, but I imagine if I ever had to it would involve this:

If someone says in an exit interview "it's not about the pay," either they're lying and it is about the pay, or the culture is toxic or otherwise sucks. Buying a ping pong table will not fix a toxic work environment.

It's true that there are many reasons other than pay that people leave jobs, but lack of a ping-pong table isn't one of them.

Most people want to work at a place that treats them like human beings worthy of respect and dignity, and much of corporate America fails miserably at that.

Conservative fetish art is always weird, but it's never weirder than when it involves AOC. She never fails to get them worked up into a rage-filled lather, but at the same time they are obsessed with sexualizing her in the most bizarre and anatomically impossible ways.

I left an organization for what was essentially a lateral move and no pay increase because the culture was so toxic. And when they asked me in the exit interview if a pay raise would convince me to stay, I said there wasn't enough money in the world for me to stay. I think they got the message.

About a year later, the entire department I had formerly worked in was nuked with extreme prejudice.

There's an awesome German word called schadenfreude that pretty much describes how I feel about the whole thing.

It’s always about pay. I have it on good authority that if people aren’t paid, they wont work. There may be other reasons - such as a toxic work environment. But if someone was offered a job doing the same thing for better pay without fear of losing health insurance, job security (30 day probation period) or necessity of moving, they would take it.

Eh, it depends how much more money. For a big leap then sure, but I'm happy enough where I am and with the projects I'm on that I would turn down an offer to move for a bit more pay.

I was torn with this new job I just took. Old job I was considered an SME (subject matter expert) as well as the fact that myself and two other people were the only ones capable of … immediately resolving transactional issues (why can’t I buy something? Why can’t I pay for something). It was a position of some authority and high visibility. I liked what I did and I did it well. new job was not a substantial increase in pay, but its a new job, new things to learn, new problems to resolve. But, mostly it was about pay.
