She admitted to making the whole incident up that led to Till being murdered, one would think that makes her an accessory to kidnapping, if not murder. We're prosecuting low-level folks who worked at the death camps in WWII, seems like we could prosecute her.
What's real sickening is the guys who did it were found not guilty, then sold the story of how they DID do it for money thanks to the shield they have of double jeopardy. It's going to be difficult to go after her as accessory to kidnapping when her lie was "he whistled at me" and the crime happened days afterward. Unless you can prove she had a hand in planning it, nothing will happen to her.

Not to be a downer, but I'm guessing that in the case of the Nazis, the powers that be belatedly discovered their identities in addition to there (probably) being no such thing as a statute of limitations for war crimes. There is a statute of limitations as to accessory to murder (I dunno if you could actually get her for murder proper on the facts as we know them -- that she identified Emmett as whistling at her), and it's not like the identity of this woman hasn't been known for decades. I don't think the fact that a judge signed out a warrant for her decades ago is "new evidence" as such to warrant tolling the statute of limitations. But I would love to be proven wrong in this instance.
