When are we going to get an "Alex Jones walks the last mile" thread?
Why is this taking so long?
Get him in that chair already!

Is the title "Porcine Gasbag" up for grabs now that Rush Limbaugh is dead? Or does the Limbaugh estate still have claim on it?

FF has been reasonably consistent in not liking InfoWars/Alex Jones. :clyde:

edit: That said, this court exchange does seem quite apt.

I am just curious as to which right wing talking heads, politicos and possibly even politicians were texting Alex Jones and what were they talking about.

I'm surprised you hadn't seen it already.

Since the text/email stuff is now entered evidence at a trial, I wonder how much of it is public record, negating the need to subpoena it at all? :corn:

I don't think the entire lot was released as public evidence. Apparently (not sure how to verify) the lawyers who received it have said they won't be just dumping it all to the public, but will cooperate with requests that seem to have a legitimate interest in it, such as Jones ex-wife and the Jan 6 commission.

The Sandy Hook crisis actor conspiracy used to make blood shoot out of my eyes with rage.
But...I've come around to, it's the gun-nut admission of defeat.
When you have to lie so hard you bend fucking reality, in order to protect the NRA from outrage over dead kids, in the name of nothing else but fucking dollar signs for the gun industry....you're fucked.
You're literally at the point of having to say the sky is purple, and grass is red.
And when you have to have Alex-fucking-Jones spread that lie for you...that's the flag of fucking surrender.
So, yeah, go ahead and pile the tinfoil on, "gun culture".
    Destroy yourselves.
    Hasten your demise.

Putting aside the fact that it's Alex Jones this happened to, there could be some legal ramifications for this guy for this, no?

I mean, even Alex Jones has the right to an attorney that looks out for his very shady interests.

Jones' lawyer is at least the 11th one he's had. This is a good article on the background of the case.

One theory I’ve heard is that Jones hoping he can get everything tossed out on appeal by claiming his lawyer was incompetent. Problem is, that really only works in criminal cases and this is a civil one.

You're entitled to a jury of your peers. Sounds like Jones also got one for a lawyer.

The law is going to vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction of course, but I would have to imagine that there is a pretty good malpractice claim that Jones would have against his lawyer for divulging the information, for not seeking to claim any sort of privilege over it, and/or for not adequately preparing Jones so he could avoid or minimize being dunked on by the parents' lawyer.

There would be various ethical complaints because the parents' lawyers presumably asked for these materials and Jones and/or his previous attorneys almost certainly said they did not exist or they did not have them, which may result in additional sanctions not for Jones only but for the attorney both from the court and from the Texas Bar.

I don't think you have to be as conspiracy-minded as an Alex Jones to believe the notion that Jones's lawyer might have disclosed this accidentally on purpose, especially if it's true that he said and did nothing when it was pointed out that the disclosure was made.

Man it would be so nice to see a guy like Jones face real world consequences

These people live in a fantasy world, when cunts like these get snapped back to reality it's a wonderful thing

Again, I don't know what the particulars are for this area of law and specifically as to TX.

But if I was Jones's lawyer, a simple "please disregard" would not have sufficed. I would have bombarded the parents' lawyers with e-mails/calls till I got a response indicating that he was indeed going to disregard what was sent, and I would have specified more grounds on why it should be disregarded. I would have probably attempted to get the court involved in this to prevent the use of the material (which of course is complicated by the notion that at least some of it is probably stuff that was withheld in bad faith) but at a minimum I would have broken the bad news that this had happened to avoid Jones getting posterized.

If I were the parents' lawyer, I probably would not have just said "Jones' lawyer didn't do enough to assert privilege for 10 days, so now I can use it free and clear." I would have formally brought this up to the judge that this came into my possession and shows that Jones had been wrongly withholding documents and perjuring himself. You lose what even Jones admitted was a "Perry Mason moment," which probably never happens to real-life lawyers, but then you can have 100 percent clean hands and don't have to worry about a judge questioning your approach.

Judge has just denied him a mistrial (which his lawyer asked for on the basis of the prosecution not destroying the records he accidentally sent them).
