When Amazon has their Fire Tablets on sale, I'll buy or two, jailbreak them into Android tablets and a few low price Android phones. I use them to control all the smart devices in my house. I have about ten or so. I find myself using three or four at times. Might be watching YouTube on one, posting here on another, texting on my phone that I use as a phone, or texting on a third tablet/phone that I've installed Messages on as a mirror, and use another to read the news or something online. It's easier than switching back and forth on apps on a single device.

Damn. I thought I was bad because I watch tv and play on my ipad at the same time. I just have one tv and one ipad. And one phone.

There's a deleted scene of Ayala in his quarters, tossing another PADD onto a whole pile of them, and muttering "fucking idiot."

It's also part of why Suder finally snapped.

I'm kinda lazy too. If I hear that I get a text message, instead of going to where the phone is. I can just pick up one of the tablets that are laying around, pretty much have one or two in each room. Then instead of getting the phone, I just use one the tablets to reply. Laziness is also why almost all my lights, all my TVS, thermostats, are smart and voice controlled. I can make a phone call from any room in the house.

I kinda get it. Finally getting a message from home is going to be a huge deal to someone on Voyager, giving it to them on a PADD gives them something to physically hold and keep as a memento.

When I was a kid in the 80's one of my great aunts once sent me a telegram wishing me a happy birthday. She knew how phones and letters worked, but to her telegrams were a special, something you could keep and frame or put in a scrapbook. :clyde:

How many Trek incarnations have had a "crew member gets accused of murder" episode?

TOS - Scotty, "A Wolf in the Fold"
TNG - Riker, "A Matter of Perspective"
    DS9 - Dax, "Dax"
VOY - Paris, "Ex Post Facto"

Did Enterprise do one? Seems like the kind of thing that would have happened to Trip.

Archer got put on trial by Klingons for being a good Samaritan, and got a sentence equal to if he'd been a killer.
And he really got the business that one time, cuz Porthos peed on a sacred tree.

Technically Shockwave Part I was about Archer being framed for mass murder of all those miners, and Rules of Engagement also had Worf framed for the murder of a bunch of Klingon civilians.

I've probably mentioned it in the Lower Decks thread before, but I gotta give props to TIIC that went with making T'Ana a grumpy cat rather than furry bait . It would've been easy to parody 90s Trek's tendency to put every woman with DDs in a sexy catsuit and I've no doubt she'd still be fairly well written (more so even than the originals themselves!) but I'm glad they took the road less traveled instead.
I don't think they did, but they probably just ran outta time to do one.

Enterprise just murdered Trek as a franchise until the Abramsverse gave it CPR.

Again, all those timelines in "Parallels" canonize everything.
There's not just enough timelines there for all the episodes, movies, comics, novels, etc, but the Marvel/DC crossovers, all the Marvel/DC timelines off of that, everything Marvel/DC crossover with, everything the tertiary comic companies crossover with, and so on, and so on.

So yeah, I was doing the Ent-D build up. The last issue(s) I received were 75, 76, 77l 78. The total was supposedly 120. I was taking my time on building it. 'm at step/issue 24. So 20% built, and 65% of the entire build has been sent. From what I understand, the entire run of issues as actually made by a Chinese company. Hopefully someone or some company may be able to continue distributing the remaining issues. If not..

Y'know what peices of tech we still haven't seen?

    The toilets, natch.

    And the industrial replicators.
They've always referred to them, especially in DS9, but we've never seen 'em.
I get they didn't have the budget in the 90's, but they have the budget and the tech now.
    Let's see these suckers.

Are they stationary, like factory machines, or is there a big crawling bug version that eats pollution, and spits food and medicine out its ass?

    I wanna see it.

It occurred to me last night when "The Lights Of Zetar" was on...

By the time of this episode, Michael Burnham, Saru, Mirror-Philippa Georgiou, Beckett Mariner, Bradford Boimler, and Benjamin Sisko will have all visited the Enterprise bridge.

Something else we haven't seen, and only Lower Decks can cover this.

    Bolian poop.

Its been hinted at in pieces scattered throughout TNG and DS9 that Bolians eat dangerous poison food, and make dangerous poison poop.
Like, so dangerous waste treatment has to be augmented to prevent a deadly chemical explosion when mixing with the other alien and human poops.

We need to see this weaponized.

Voyager has a crew of about 150.

And when Paris is confined to the brig for 30 days, one of those 150 people is assigned to just ... stand there and watch him.
