It occurred to me that we're doing FF a disservice. He's actually in the forefront of what I believe will be a nationwide trend. Twenty years from now it will be damn hard to find anyone not totally on the margins of society who will say they voted for Trump. In his own way, FF is a pioneer and a leader. :backpedal:

Mark Milley apparently drafted a resignation letter following Trump's use of the military to clear BLM protestors from Lafayette Square:

Narrator: He could, in fact, be a party to that. (he never submitted the letter)

But in case we feel Trump didn't subscribe to many of those principles, it's also reported that Trump condemned his generals for not being more loyal to him, asking why they couldn't be more like Hitler's generals...

When it was pointed out to him that Hitler's generals tried to have him assassinated on three occasions, Trump refused to listen and continued to insist that they were totally loyal to Adolf.

We're such a stupid species with such antiquated belief systems.

If anything, property used for cemeteries should be heavily, heavily taxed.

Why? Because it's a waste of fucking land. :bergman:

There are still people who get deeply offended if every car on the road doesn't pull over when a funeral procession is coming the other way, so I'm guessing any changes to cemetery taxation are a long ways off.

Kinda like how despite growing up in a city that skews conservative by California standards, I've never met anyone who voted for Nixon.

    Interesting, that one

The latest episode of Pod Save America has an interview with Alex Holder, the guy who was shooting the documentary about Trump when Jan. 6th happened. According to him (and remember, they'd been following Trump around since before the election), was that Trump wouldn't let Air Force One take off until he'd put on Nessun Dorma, and the song had reached the climax. No shit. The most powerful man (or second most powerful, after Putin) in the world, wouldn't let the Presidential jet take off until he'd got his "tunes" on.

And if you're someone like me, who fucking hates opera and have no idea WTF Nessun Dorma is, it's this:

The English translation of the lyrics are:
    Nobody shall sleep!...
    Nobody shall sleep!
    Even you, o Princess
    In your cold room
    Watch the stars
That tremble with love and with hope

But my secret is hidden within me
My name no one shall know...
    No!...No!...
On your mouth I will tell
    It when the light shines

And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!...
(No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.)
    Vanish, o night!
    Set, stars! Set, stars!
At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!

Pavarotti is a tenor, Paganini is a composer.

Also the song at the end of…. The Sun of All Fears? Is that the movie I’m thinking of? Perhaps not the most auspicious song for a criminal to rock out to.

A lot of "investors" who put money into the vehicle that's supposed to merge with Truth Social are going to suffer the same fate as so many others who have tried to hitch their financial well-being to this serial grifter's wagon. LINK

A planned merger between the Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the business that created the Truth Social platform, and the special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Digital World Acquisition Corp, has been postponed indefinitely as the Securities and Exchange Commission investigates the platform's business dealings.

SPACs like Digital World are companies formed either to raise funds through an initial public offering or for the purpose of merging with an existing company. SPACs have no other commercial operations. In an SEC filing earlier this month, Digital World said it had "neither engaged in any operations nor generated any revenues to date" as its sole purpose was to prepare to take Truth Social public.

In another filing, Digital World sought shareholder approval to delay the merger, set to take place Sept. 8, until next year, citing concerns over the former president's reputation potentially impacting business.

"If President Trump becomes less popular or there are further controversies that damage his credibility or the desire of people to use a platform associated with him, and from which he will derive financial benefit, TMTG's results of operations, as well as the outcome of the proposed Business combination, could be adversely affected," the filing read.

Digital World's stock has plunged more than 75 percent since its peak in March — from a high of $97.54 a share to $27.52 each — and in a recent SEC filing the company reported it lost $6.5 million in the first half of the year.
