Very cool "Ozymandias" reference in this week's episode. When Saul tells Walt to try starting the RV again, he says, “...or are they going to find us buried in a sandstorm a thousand years from now?”

"Ozymandias" was also the third-to-last episode of its series.

Saul's getting greedy and desperate. Not good. I'm guessing Kim shows up one more time.

Apparently Saul's side of the phone booth call was more audible in the German version than in the English one.

Also lots of speculation that we'll see Kim's side of that conversation next week. :corn:

It seems like to stick the landing Saul needs to do two things: develop a scam to get him out of the DEA trouble he is in (he’s clearly not happy living as Gene) and find some redemption while he does it. Kim may be an essential ingredient. I dunno. Just spitballing. It’ll be nothing like that.

I think that because so many fans want Gene/Saul/Jimmie and Kim to end up happy together, Gilligan and company will have the opposite happen.

With the exception of Jesse, in the BB/BCS universe everyone eventually goes down (and he was tortured first).

I’ve brought this up before, but I’ll repeat it. Falina was deliberate.

    :wtf:

    You mean Felina?

"Felina" is an anagram of "finale". Not sure what you're getting at. Of course the title was deliberate.

Sorry. What I meant to say was the lyrics of the song El Paso line up pretty well with scenes in “Felina”. I always thought that was pretty cool. In the song the Mexican girl’s name is Felina and of course the “Mexican girl” Walt is in love with is the blue meth.

Yeah, as soon as the song started to play at the end of the penultimate episode I knew Walt was headed back to the scenes of his crimes like the kid in the song.

BTW Marty Robbins’ sequel to “El Paso” has the girl’s name as Feleena.

Lyrics for the original song vary the spelling from Felina to Feleena to Faleena.

So now we (sort of) know Kim's fate.

And I'm also guessing, given the last five minutes of the penultimate episode, that Saul is going to get a Walter White ending.

I really wanted a "happy" ending for Jimmy. He tried to do things the right way, but was forced to break bad because of his brother and in part by Howard who backed Chuck. Jimmy went the way he died in part of that. And we saw that Kim was willing to break bad worse in ways that he didn't, and in part of that he ultimately became Saul.

    "Waterworks" was the episode title.

Kim works at a sprinkler company.
Kim broke down crying on the shuttle bus.
And someone on another site pointed out that Water Works is two moves away from Go to Jail on a Monopoly board.

I think Kim will "get away with it" and Jimmy's toast. She'll be guilt ridden the rest of her life. Rhea Seehorn desrves an Emmy for this episode alone.

The DA will decline to prosecute due to no physical evidence or witnesses and Kim's punishment will be having to live in Florida with the guilt of what she and Jimmy did.

One positive from them having to split the season due to Odenkirk's heart attack is that the last six episodes will be eligible for next year's Emmys.

I really liked the callback to the first BCS episode where Gene is watching the old tape of his Saul Goodman commercials and the reflection of the screen in his glasses is in color.

Also, I don't know if you saw Talking Saul after the episode, but Rhea Seehorn pointed out that if that conversation between Kim and Jesse (or even Kim’s reply to Jesse asking if Saul was any good) had gone even slightly differently, the arc of Breaking Bad may not have happened. If she tells Jesse that Saul isn't that good, maybe Emilio (the same Emilio that gets killed and dissolved in Jesse's bathtub) goes to another lawyer instead...

I saw elsewhere that I guess the producers or someone pointed out that Lalo is the happiest person in the show.

Jimmy's transformation into a small time grifter/2nd story man is really amazing. There were things that made Jimmy/Saul somewhat sympathetic, even if he was a slimeball defending even bigger slimeballs. But Gene...fuck him.... :diaf:

That said, what fascinates is all the little touches the writers throw in for authenticity. I mean Carol Burnett using "Ask Jeeves" to track down Saul? Genius!!! Also I really appreciate the authenticity of their sports references...the Albuquergue Isotopes air freshener, the University of Miami coffee mug, knowing that Garnet and Gold are Florida State's colors...the Florida Gators stickers in the car windows on the used car lot in Titusville. They even had Gene discussing Nebraska football in a very accurate way. I'm fascinated to see the grand finale!

But they also had a license plate on the front of Kim's car. Florida doesn't have from license plates, only rear ones.

Finger guns. I'm going to miss this show so much. So glad he didn't sell out Kim or get shanked, but I did hold out hope that he would do the seven years and get back together with Kim. Oh well. Totally not what I expected. Very funny, very sad, very good. At least Kim gets to have a life. 86 years, wow.

    Jimmy. What. The. Fuck.

Seven years. He had it down to seven years. Butt I'm guessing that Kim isn't open to a civil suit anymore.
