This is pretty unprecedented, as Executive Privilege has never been successfully asserted by a former president - against the current president's administration.

I could see getting a special master to oversee any potential client-attorney issues, but she went WAY past that.

She also says the ODNI assessment of the potential impact of the mishandling of classified can continue.

The FBI just can't be involved - even though they are a critical component of intelligence and homeland security.

This also implies that the FBI is not acting impartially.

This is about the best Trump could have hoped for.

Really isn't ANYONE who's both legally qualified AND holds the highest security clearance ...AND can't be accused of party bias who could be chosen - which would just make it take longer which is the goal.

The DOJ has formally filed an appeal to the 11th Circuit court of Appeals over Judge Cannon's eggregious ruling on Trump's special master that was far broader than Trump requested and overtly handicaps ongoing investigations into both the criminality and damage caused by Trump's actions.

Evidently they first gave her the option of modifying her ruling but she did not respond.

A friend of mine who retired from the CIA made an interesting point yesterday. A president normally never even sees, let alone has possession of this kind of material, which raises all kinds of questions. Just one small piece of a very weird puzzle.
