The article I snagged the pic from said she and her sister were evacuated from Buckingham palace to Windsor Castle when she was 13, but even just staying in England and living in another castle (a massive publicly known target) is still ballsy as hell.

I hear you... Even here in Germany, with all the coverage, I was kind of getting worried they would not show Freiburg's first Euroleague Match in years..
Raising memories of when my father called me, obviously astonishingly uninformed, infuriated, "why aren't they broadcasting the fucking match?"... against Dynamo Puchov... In 2001.. on 9/11 .

Call me ‘woke’ or pedantic or whatever but while I enjoy/appreciate stats like this I REALLY wish folks would add ‘as an independent nation’ because there is definitely history coming from both the states as political entities and from the peoples that lived here pre-colonization.

    Still, good tweet:

Queen Elizabeth became monarch with Churchill as Prime Minster.

Churchill was elected MP for the first time in 1900, during Queen Victoria's reign.

Queen Victoria was born while George III was still King.

    There's all of U.S. history, post-British empire.

For real though the Great Emu War has to at least be on the Top 10 Most Australian Things Eva board.

So Wikipedia says the outcome was a failure. That men couldn’t defeat a herd of Emus. But I personally choose to see it as a success. That 20,000 dinosaurs successfully fought off the criminal, whoristic descendants of the rats that used to eat their eggs.

That is how I choose to see it…

Real talk, I thought they typically waited 90 days to coronate a new monarch though?

I mean, I assume Charlie Boy is one of, if not the oldest person to ascend to the throne in British history but if he's waited this long another few weeks won't hurt.

Elizabeth waited over a year for her coronation. No telling what Charlie will do. He's still probably got time to sort it out.

The Brits are more sensible about such things: they don't waste any time telling the old Prime Minister to get out. I think they head for 10 Downing St. as soon as the new PM is named. When the monarch passes, the heir-apparent automatically and immediately is name King/Queen. The coronation is just a formality, albeit an extravagant one.

I'd have to hear it live, but don't care that much.

figured this is how it'd sound tho

“May God bless the Queen (the queen of great britain... ooh boy, isn't britain great folks?), may she reign forever in our hearts, and may God hold her and Prince Philip in abiding care,” Trump said in a joint statement with his wife, Melania. “Melania and I will always cherish our time together with the Queen, and never forget Her Majesty’s generous friendship(so very generous, you know? almost as generous as me when I was president before the radical democrats stole an election. everybody knows they stole the election) , great wisdom, and wonderful sense of humor. What a grand and beautiful lady she was—there was nobody like her! (she was so grand... and beautiful)”
