    Five major cases coming up.

    1. College admissions: Can state funded colleges take race into account for admissions? The argument is that Asians are being unfairly discriminated against.

    2. The EPA: Can the EPA regulate waterways on private land that don't connect to navigable waters on federal lands? Ex. a mud puddle in your yard.

    3. Election law: NC. the state legislatures enacted election law that the State Supreme Court overruled. The Constitution is pretty clear that state legislators get to enact election laws. Should be a slam dunk, but we'll see.

    4. Voting rights: AL. Alabama is allegedly in violation The voting Rights Act of 1965 because the act states that representation in congress of a given race must approximate the percentage of that minority in the state. KJB was involved in this case. Will she recuse herself?

    5. This is the wedding cake thing all over again except it involves websites this time. Are these websites in violation of The Civil Rights Act of 1964? *Personally, I think Title II of The Civil Rights Act of 1964 should be eliminated, but I won't go as far as saying the whole thing should be repealed.

    * Just in case someone wants to accuse me of being a supporter of the Mises Caucus. This is something I disagree with them on.

You think public accommodations should be able to discriminate against a specific group of people?

That'll go over well until that group of people are straight white christian men.

Indeed it should. How insane would it be if state legislatures could ignore their own Constitutions when drafting election law?

I hope Justice Jackson doesn't recuse herself from jack shit.

I'm tired of people insisting that one side has to continue playing by the rules that the other side uses for toilet paper.

Then let's just tear up all laws because you don't think people should play fairly.

To continue the (admittedly somewhat inappropriate, because we're talking about decisions that affect people's lives) game analogy, there's nothing "fair" about a game where the players are following two different sets of rules.

So you think that because you believe the Republicans don't play by the rules, the Democrats should stoop to their level and not play by the rules as well?

And who created the State Constitutions that each state follows for its election laws?

Come on, you can do it!

I think that Thomas et. al. have already decided what rulebook they're going to use, so there's no point in Justice Jackson using a different one just to make some pundits happy.

One thing is for damn sure. If you are an aggrieved Republican and you have done the Fox News rounds, this court is highly interested in your case. It’s almost as if you go to the front of the line.

It doesn't say those election laws are bound by the US Constitution either, or that Congress's overrides of those election laws must be Constitutional either. There's some obvious implicit domain here.

What case is this? Last I heard, the EPA has explicitly stated it doesn't consider puddles within its jurisdiction. Admittedly from six years ago, so I would be interested to read up this case.

Does Federal Farmer get paid by right wing youtube hacks for promoting their monetized videos?

I have a fucking algorithm so I do not need the boy deciding what would be interesting for me. Maybe he could present an opinion or discussion since Judge Napolitano is not here to discuss his video? I am really not sure what the discussion actually is aside from oh yeah the supreme court is doing things again.

Given the current makeup of the court, I'll be very surprised if the decisions don't all boil down to:

    1) Racism is over and how dare you suggest otherwise

    2) Big polluters get to do whatever they want

Don't forget christian burquas for every woman, death to gays, legalized killing of blacks and anyone speaking any other language than country merican. legalized lynching, no interracial marriage, a return to the original racial slavery, beating women and children legal and necessary again. Oh, and the end to non-white male landowner voting. A repeal of all OSHA regulations and a return to sweatshop abuses for employers.

Just making america great again by going back to the original plan.

Apparently his backyard is so big that it had a wetland in it that he colloquially refers to as a mud puddle and that wetland abuts a navigable water way like a river or lake.

    Pretty much.

I am half scared to death of being turned away from wherever the hell my polling place turns out to be this year. In California I have only voted in person twice in my life and was fortunate enough that it was in walking distance of my house without a bunch of Proud Boys showing up for "integrity". But unlike certain tankies I know, I don't feel like I can sit on my ass and sulk because the vote probably won't go my way.

If I could afford to move back home, I would in a heartbeat just on that alone. :garamet:

Get completely the fuck out of here. You are not getting turned away from any goddamn polling station. You might have to see someone you dislike and feel uncomfortable about it, but by no stretch does that amount to being "turned away."

Now don't you feel silly for saying that you might be denied the right to vote? It seems pretty clear to me that he doesn't care how anyone votes, he's going to make sure that his preferred candidate wins.
