Seeing that in print explains much of the orange turd's appeal among his supporters because many of them have weddings just like that.

Who on earth decided it was a good idea to let two emotionally unstable malignant narcissists have dinner together?

And evidently a known holocaust denier and Hitler devotee was there as well.

Funny how only Republicans 'accidentally' have dinners with Neo-Nazis.

    From Fox News:

Herschel Walker just wrote Donald Trump's political obituary

... Having suffered the rare humiliation of failing to win a second term in the Oval Office, and having cost his party a majority in the senate – three times – it is time for Donald Trump to step away from politics. It is the right thing to do for his party, for the country, and for himself.

Mr. Trump will not win another election. His most glaring political strength today is his ability to energize Democrats, causing not only historic turnout but attracting gushers of campaign cash – for the opposition.

Michael Steele countered with "Trump isn't going to hang his head, and go 'oh, you guys don't like me anymore? Okay, I'll go away. :(' that isn't how this works".

Republicans could be screwed. If Trump gets the nomination he's unlikely to win the presidency again. If he doesn't get the nomination he could run as an independent or third party, splitting the Republican vote.

He could, but I think even Trump is smart enough to know he won't win as a third party candidate, and I dunno if he would want to risk the humiliation of coming in third place against both the Democrat and Republican candidates.

If Trump doesn't get the nomination can see him going scorched Earth, and still holding rallies where he talks about how the republicans have lost their way, costing them the election, and then gets to spend the rest of his life boasting that they made a mistake and he would have won.

I think you're giving him too much credit. He is street wise and cunning with a predator's ability to discern weakness in his prey, but that does not = real intelligence.

I think it will end more because he has run through all the people who are able to do the work for him and he now has lazy idiots around him so he will end up like Kanye did. He will not be able to file properly to run third party, and might not even be able to run properly in the republican primary at this point. He needs an established party because he cannot make the framework for one.

I never thought suicide would be in the picture for this asshole. However, I'm beginning to wonder if that might happen. His entire world is crumbling around him. He wasn't bullshitting when he boasted that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and his followers would still love him. This was also very much a statement of his belief that he never had to worry about being held accountable. Now, slowly but surely, that aura of invincibility is eroding while there are increasing threats to his personal fortune. Whether he's a billionaire or not, he still lives for the trappings of massive wealth. His postings on his half-assed social network are becoming increasingly incoherent. The first shoe dropped with the conviction of the Trump Organization on tax evasion. The filing of contempt charges over his theft of government documents represents a direct them to him. The pressure will only increase and the charges will increase the danger of losing everything and even going to prison. If he was truly smart (I've said before I see him as cunning with a predator's sense for weakness) he would be ready to make a break for a country that doesn't have an extradition treaty such as Andorra or the United Arab Emirates. (Look up the list of countries that don't have extradition treaties and see if you can come up with more attractive choices. Lotsa "shitholes" on that list to steal a phrase). But since I don't think he's smart enough, or realistic enough, to know that the window for him to make a run for him is closing, what's the alternative? For a man who's lived a life built around the trappings of wealth and personal power to finally have to face the possibility that he might have it all taken away by the legal system for which he has shown nothing but contempt and disdain...well what do you think he will do when the walls finally close in and he realizes that he can't stall, bully or buy his way out of trouble?

What you are not accounting for is the ability to delude himself that people like him possess. You are projecting too much of your rationality on him. I don't know if you watch south park, but it would sort of be like how eric cartman can always convince himself other people like him. I am not sure at what point he would be forced to recognize the truth and become suicidal, but I would think it would not be until he was deep in prison with no hope of escape. That just does not seem to be where he is going.

Exactly this. He didn't want to be President to begin with. It was all a grift and one that he wants to keep going now because he's desperate for cash. No doubt the RNC will continue to handle him with kid gloves until a viable contender for the nomination appears (that'll be sometime in the primary season). Once that happens, they'll try to ease him out of the picture. That's when things will get "interesting" as they say.

If they keep shoveling money in his direction, they can probably sideline him without too much trouble. Give him a "Hero of the Party" medal, wheel him out at important events, to let him blather on, and then quickly stuff him back in his box before he says too much crazy shit. They cut him off, or he gets arrested and things will get ugly. He'll lash out, declare the GOP to be swamp monsters and part of the deep state, and do everything he can to destroy them, regardless of the damage that he causes to himself. He'll start spilling party secrets and do anything else that he can think of to wreck them.

The big variable, IMHO, is how loyal his kids are to him. Ivana's put some distance between her and him, but Don, Jr. and Eric still seem pretty loyal. The GOP might be able to keep them from aiding their father by promising them that if they toss dad under the bus, the GOP can keep them from going to jail. If the kids stick with dad, then there's a good chance that whoever the GOP picks to be the nomination in 2024 will lose, as the election is almost certain to be a nail-biter, decided on the margins. And Trump can probably command a couple % of the vote, even as a write-in candidate, or simply having people stay home on election day.

A reply from the thread where I saw that:

The Trump campaign is honest-to-Christmas beginning to follow the arc of late-career Spinal Tap.

    "Is Trump's popularity waning?"
"Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no...no, no, not at all. I, I, I just think that the.. uh.. his appeal is becoming more selective."
