It wont matter that he is soft banning the left unless he makes it really hard to create socks. In the end he can soft ban left accounts to appease the right while it still allows the fighting to happen between the two. As long as the fighting generates traffic he will get advertisers. The only failure he will have is if he starts to hardban the left and keep their trolls from getting on the site and keeping the dumpster fire on his property. That might happen because elon's ego may cause him to make a hiuge power play to smite his enemies driving them from the fight and lowering the only metric that really matters to getting advertisers.

If he can keep the fight going the advertisers will come back in a month or two. If he can do that he might survive with a bankruptcy. Twitter is still a name and the left is not going to leave unless he kicks them out. People are hopelessly addicted to the platform. Look at people like @Tuckerfan . Twitter could sew him into a human centipede and he would still be on the site. It is an addiction to many, and they will not leave unless they are kicked out and stopped from coming back. You can beat and degrade a crackhead as their dealer and they will always come back and ask you if you have crack.

Let us not ignore that when two forces of evil rip each other apart they weaken both sides and the only collateral damage in this case would be itards and twits. I use android and windows 10, and don't bother with twitter so it is a win win for me if both the musk cult and the apple cult fight.

The penis pump aside, does the dude not have a maid? Why is his nightstand so otherwise boring? I am not going to shame on the penis pump because that is the coolest thing there, but no one is cleaning up so why isn't there anything cool there? Come on, you are elon, couldn't you at least have some electronic penis pump/VR sex machine? Maybe a multiple speed Butt plug? At least some super rich guy drinks made from the glowing dew of hard to find plants and gold flakes? Shit dude, at least some coke zero cherry vanilla instead of plain old diet coke. I don't even have elon money and I don't drink plain old diet coke.

So the most interesting thing there is photoshopped. That is just fucking boring. So all he has around with all his money is basic coke cans, some stupid fake guns, a buddhist charm, a boring lamp, and a american revolution picture? Why is my nightstand cooler than his? At least I have a buttplug on mine.

Apple deleted Epic after Epic tried to enable IAP not through Apple. If they’d succeeded, it would have made little difference financially to Apple whether they were banned or not (accounting for the people who would have stuck with Apple IAP because they didn’t want Epic to have their CC, vs the hosting and delivery costs of the app). And considering how many other developers and publishers would try, nuking Fortnite might have saved them billions more.

I do believe Elon has learned enough to get a proper business management degree. He has the obvious knowledge of economics and motivation that most of them have, and he certainly knows how to take credit for what his people do. I am thinking he should be honorary PhD stupidvisor degree. I know what is in business management and this is the pure product.

Oh, did my complete disrespect for a person with business management as their major come out?

purchased degrees don't mean shit. Always have a real tech check out the supposed rich genius kid before you back him.

Someone needs to have a long talk with Elon about how everyone else has been paid to do the work for him, and that means he is dumb as fuck pie and he better figure out how to keep his money before the real vultures come.

Honestly, Apple could fuck with Musk in some pretty serious ways without booting Twitter from the app store. Consider this: Apple's standard business model, when it comes to certain components is to pre-buy in bulk. They've bought so much of various companies products (like computer chips or display panels) that the companies didn't have the capacity to supply anyone else in the phone/PC industry components, and Apple's competitors (and even non-competitors) had to desperately scramble to find other suppliers or delay product launches. What would happen if Apple suddenly decided that they needed to buy the entire output of a component that Tesla "just happens" to need for their cars? Tesla's then got to try and scramble to find another source for that component, or redesign their vehicles to do without it.

What's going to happen to Tesla's stock if they can't sell cars because they can't get the parts they need? Presently, Tesla's market cap is just under $600 billion. Apple has ~$200 billion in cash on hand. Apple has been rumored to be wanting to get into the car business for about a decade now. I don't think that it's unreasonable to believe that if Tesla has to stop selling cars because of a parts shortage, their stock will go down and if Apple offers to buy the company for $100 billion in cash, plus stock in Apple, Tesla's board will almost certainly take it.

And honestly, I can make a stronger case for synergy between Apple and Tesla, than I can for Tesla and Twitter. Both Apple and Tesla will benefit from the combined battery research and purchasing, not to mention AI development, in-car systems, Apple can tout expanded use of solar power (thanks to the SolarCity division), and shared components. (Some Teslas have a 17-inch display, Apple could offer MacBook Pros with the same display and get discounts from larger volume pricing.). Cook got his job at Apple because he was a master of supply-chain management, so he'd likely be able to find savings that Tesla was missing out on. Additionally, since the Cult of Apple is larger than the Cult of Elon, without changing a thing about Teslas, there'd almost certainly be an immediate spike in sales of the cars once word got out that Apple was buying them.

Apple isn't going to spend money to actively sabotage Tesla, and at this point the number of build quality concerns around Tesla would I believe actively hurt Apples brand to be associated.

Does this make him part of the screeching cancel mob?
    :chris:

Oh, wait, no, only liberals can be a screechy mob.
Even though conservative Karens have screechy pitch, and they pull their bullshit way more.
And they're part of the anti CRT/LGBT intolerance mob.
    That doesn't count because reasons.

Conservatives get to stifle all the speech they want, because they're magical, and better, and realer people than everyone else.

Oh, I don't think they would. Cook's no Steve Jobs, after all. I'm just pointing out that Musk is a lot more vulnerable to Apple than Apple is to Musk. I haven't even thought about the ways Bezos and Cook working together could fuck over Musk if they were so inclined.

The first and last ~30 minutes of this podcast focus on what's going on with Twitter. One of the guests is a guy who's a security consultant who's worked for just about all of the biggest tech companies in the US (or knows people who have), and he's not terribly optimistic about what's going to happen. Because, in his experience, when a place stops being moderated well, the CSAM shitheads move in and things get ugly.

He also doesn't directly say it, but the way he says that Zuckerberg is probably happy that Musk has now become the internet's new punching bag makes me wonder if Zuck didn't put Musk up to it. Oh, and the guy's also behind the report exposing the US government's psyops on the web. Interestingly, he points out that the tweet announcing the report got more engagement than any of the psyops stuff did. Yes, they were that bad at it.

Anyone else getting promoted tweets every 4th or 5th one in their timeline? I just scrolled through 40+ tweets in my TL and never got more than 4 real tweets between promoted ones.

And most are garbage both in content and targeting:

    73846416-0F19-44EC-A99D-D42363D023E0.jpeg
    31381FF9-346E-4E82-9BF6-91E4BF03E7BD.jpeg
    F6CF44B6-44C7-42B4-894E-0D6DE6015255.jpeg

I’m not including the OF ads here because SW is work and I do subscribe to a couple ones [although not the vanilla kind they are promoting] so not super far off target but those likely aren’t high dollar ad buys either.

Twitterrific FTW. No promoted tweets, no bullshit “someone you follow liked” tweets, no “other people follow” tweets, just the people you follow and their retweets, in chronological order as God intended.
