You're accusing him of living in a bubble?!
Fuck's sake; when Beau talks about reaching people stuck in the information silo, he's talking about you. You at least had the wherewithal to give him a shot and watch a few of his vids, but I suspect you've stopped that.

Actually I have been watching his videos ever since. Proof? He talked about that power grid yesterday and how NC has the death penalty and how they could possibly charge the people responsible for murder if someone froze to death as a result of the power grid being ouot.

I’m still not convinced about the IRS agents. I can’t prove anything though.

Rogan doesn't deny all science, just some of it. As for why he'd have NDT on, that's easy: It gives him an air of legitimacy, it also attracts fans of NDT to watch his show.

Well, for starters, a good way to reach people who don't understand science is to go where the idiots are. Next, NDT's luster has faded a bit in the wake of the MeToo allegations and several instances of him talking out of his ass about things he knew nothing about. Going on Rogan can help drive book sales and tour date tickets, which he almost certainly needs since he's probably not getting booked as a guest on as many shows as he once was, and he's unlikely to have another season of Cosmos in his future. (Dude drives a Benz in NYC, so he needs a big paycheck.)
There's nothing wrong with challenging the narrative when the narrative is wrong, but you've got to bring facts and evidence. Something Rogan doesn't do. Also, I would think that the guy who frequently (and correctly, I might add) argues that just because JJTrek made more money at the box office than other Trek films doesn't mean that it's a better film series would recognize that popularity does not equal quality. After all, McDonald's sells more meals than Ruth's Chris Steakhouse but I don't think anyone would argue that McDonald's was better food. Finally, given that Rogan does have more viewers/listeners than cable news, I'd say that he was MSM, while they were not.

Finally someone acknowledges that I’m right about JJ Trek. Thank yo for that. I mean it. As for everything else, sure you’re probably right. Thank you for not being a dick.

Maybe pay attention to what I've said for years, then? Because I've never refrained from saying that JJTrek sucked and that just because it made piles of money means nothing about the quality of the films. I mean, JJTrek came out in '09, some 27 years after TWoK, and today TWoK is still being referenced in pop culture. JJTrek? Not so much. Even people who were fans of the movie ain't saying shit about it today. Nobody's quoting it, not a huge amount of memes about it, either.

not sure quotablity denotes quality though...

    "Don't be that guy.".

I'd wager about six of us could tell you where that first gained traction...

And Feddy? This is another reason we have trouble takign you seriously.

Like you were some lone iconoclast trying to warn us? THat those who enjoyed the films were somehow wrong?

    Get over yourself.

Most quoted author in the English language is a guy by the name of William Shakespeare. Perhaps you've heard of him? If you look at the bookshelf in this scene from TWoK, you'll see that even Khan liked his stuff.

    Not true-it's "Anon." :P
As you pointed out, how proliferate something may be is no sign of it's quality. Granted, it's shakespeare here... but consider that his work is generally derivative of existing stories and (much like Roddenberry) he didn't actually create as or so much as he executive produced.

(Also, isn't one of the best Kahn lines from Melville? :P )

I beg to differ, Keenser is practically a common household name, as children of all ages still quote him to this day and I definitely didn't have to look up the character's name.

...but he would not keep the audience posted on any new news, as clarity would impede profitability for both his show and the "archeologist's" .

interesting take on old vs nu media and progressive vs "traditionalist" ideologies

    totally worth the read.

"It’s already hard to build a political coalition when a third of the population won’t give your ideas consideration due to cultural divisions. It’s even harder when your movement has built a lot of its branding around being evidence based, but the concept of ‘objective’ facts is disappearing."
