A comment I saw elsewhere that stuck in my head while watching the trailer was, "Who turned out the lights?" I wonder if there's an explanation for why things are so dark on the Federation ships. I can understand it for things like combat, to a degree, but just casually flying around on what appears to be a training mission ala TWoK, I don't see the reason. Is it a stylistic choice? Or is it a cost-saving measure so that the sets don't have to be as detailed? Also, I'm disappointed that when we see Geordi on the comms screen, he doesn't say, "You know, Jean-Luc, I'm getting real tired of having to save your cracker ass."
Maybe a bit of both? I remember seeing Generations in a theater and thinking the same thing about all the lights being turned off. Same exact ship as the teevee series, but the lighting was far more dramatic in some scenes. It's also possible that for Generations it might've had something to do with trying to hide the imperfections of the TV series sets on a big screen at film resolution. Remastered TNG has shown that some of the TNG sets look pretty crappy in HD, with visible paint brush strokes and other stuff.
The Titan crew. https://trekmovie.com/2023/02/05/te...ps-more-clues-from-star-trek-picard-season-3/ Uh oh, there's a non-binary! Discovery, SNW, and now Picard. Does Zero count? I think Zero counts. Once LD gets one, CHUDs can't watch trek anymore. Terry Matalas also spoils that Janeway won't be in season 3, but "there are other Voyagers".
A little weireded out by the Bajoran tactical officer without the ridges and with a very human name LOVE Todd Stashwick Not sure what to make of the Vulcan. Bald doesn't throw me, but...the ears? I'm on record as thinking that there's more storytelling to be done with Seven leading a show about the Rangers but, short of that, if he wants to keep going probably the best way to draw me in is a show led by her and Staswick (of course I'm inclined to think the latter will die in the first episode but...eh...just sayin'.
Mariner is openly pansexual and dated "nonbinary babes" (her exact canon words) so LD is the first Trek show to acknowledge enbies exist. That counts for something
Also worth noting is McMahan had an "Inner Light" inspired story for Boimler and Jet Manhaver which was later scrapped where the two ended up married and ended with Jet remembering everything but Boimler did not. That's partly why they're shown together in that Naked Now sim that the bad faith actors shit their pants over. Anyway, everyone in Star Trek is queer and CHUDs can stay mad about it, thank you and good night
They're not putting Catians in live action Trek. You think people went apeshit over the one inch of T'Pol's butt crack that aired in 2004, having a whole ass hot cat girl would break the fucking internet
Does the triple-breasted cat lady stripper from Star Trek 5 count? Depends on if 5 really is Kirk's dream or not.
Jesus Christ, people. These are all background characters who will be lucky if they get more than a few minutes of screen time. The LCARS tactical console plays a more prominent role than most of these chumps.
I generally agree with this, unless these are backdoor pilot characters for a Captain 7 of the Titan series. Then these are her crew.
Ya know, I'm starting to think Brent Spiner's line after Nemesis about not wanting to continue playing an ageless android ... might have been BS. I'm such a piece of shit. I wasn't going to watch and made my plan to go by the reviews, but I know I'm going to watch the first episode like the degenerate I am. I'm going in with a pretty negative bias, obviously. S2 was atrocious. I might have been more forgiving had Matalas issued a public apology. Alas, he did not. I just hope Martok has kicked Worf to the curb for his outrageous pacifism turn. A pacifist Klingon? The Mogh family has endured much. Now, their dishonor is complete. I imagine the House of Duras have been vindicated in the afterlife and upgraded to Sto'vo'kor. And Alexander. Holy shit - as if his absentee POS father hasn't already put him through the wringer. Imagine trying to make a go of it in the Empire with everyone knowing your DAD is the pacifist blood brother of the Chancellor - as if things weren't already awkward enough for him. Oh, I guess fuck Jadzia too. Good luck getting into Sto'vo'kor to reunite with your beloved, Worf the Pacifist.
I hate how DS9 took the useless idiot Worf and turned him into a competent warrior and actual character, only for the TNG movies to turn him into the comic relief.
Pics of the TNG-ers. Just noticed, Lore has a meat body, but yellow Soong-droid eyes. What's up with that? https://trekmovie.com/2023/02/09/ch...showrunner-talks-crusher-picard-relationship/
I still say I want Spiner on SNW as the inventor of Ariam's body. That would put a Soong or Soong-droid in every generation, and make Spiner Trek's Stan Lee.
I thought it was just a combination of weird lighting and Spiner not wanting to sit in the makeup chair as long anymore. But if he managed to make contact with the Synth colony there's no reason they couldn't update his skin tone however he wished.
I don't If I never see another one of Data's ancestors, it'll be too soon. La'an is on thin ice as it is.
Oh. It’s gonna be a hit! https://www.engadget.com/star-trek-picard-season-three-paramount-plus-preview-review-080010650.html
