This is just enough Section 31 content to tie up the loose threads from Discovery season 3.
    Like closing a code tag.

Please let it for no good reason have Michael Burnham in it as a flashback or an Easter Egg or something to give the Chuds the vapors.

NGL, though...Kurtzman talking in the article at the link about two groundbreaking women in the Discovery pilot made my eyes roll a little. So I can't imagine how people with hate boners for him/current Trek might feel.

Hmmm, here's a canon bookkeeping question we've never had to tackle with Trek before...

    1. The classic-TOS and JJ movies are extensions of TOS, and the TNG movies are extensions of TNG, right?
    2. And we get our rattle-off list of hero-protagonists from the shows. Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway, yadda, yadda, yadda.
    3. Does one movie put Georgiou on the rattle-off list, or does she count as an extension of Discovery?

We never had to deal with 3 before, because of 1 being the rule for so long.

    After much consideration...

Georgiou is the star, even if Burnham cameos, so it's like the "Generations" torch pass, so it's its own "show".
So, yes, Georgiou goes on the tally.

I guess TNG brought Trek back to television after a long absence with two men (Picard and Data) chatting on the bridge, so DSC bringing back Trek after a long absence with two women walking around an alien planet is kind of historic? Maybe he has Jennifer Lawrence ghostwriting his statements now. :chris:

We'll see how things shake out, but presumably if Georgiou does her job right, no one even knows her name.

I bet the last scene is Michelle Yeoh and Clem Fandango walking off into the sunset as Yeoh says "now let's go brutally torture some goo people while we whistle about it." :borg:

Let me guess, mirror universe Burnham is trying to destroy the multiverse and Georgiou has to stop her with the power of love. Her secret identity is she works at the Starfleet equivalent of a laundromat.

Doesn’t matter. I’ve cried during other episodes of Star Trek. As well as Star Wars and Stargate and .. pretty much any episode. Some women cry. Some more than others. This has been a human behavioral attribute for …. recorded history.

I think you guys are just mad because women also watch tv and movies and the sandwich making activities have been curtailed.

Yes, there's no crying in Star Trek, and it's all macho.
The franchise that gave us "City On The Edge Of Forever" "Wrath Of Khan" "Search for Spock" "Skin Of Evil" "The Offspring" "Reunion" "The Inner Light".....

Sean barely mentioned in passing a speculation that you could fire off of Bashir in DS9 and that's the idea that's been in my head all along. If the Guardian can drop her anywhere, drop her sometime within the first 30 years or so after the end of DS9, let your story start with Bashir's distaste for S31 and figure out a good story that involve - in an organic way - a couple of DS9 characters entangled with S31 and PG and, of course, Worf.

But NOT a nostalgia-fest. Hell, bring back the DS9 writers and let THEM give you a script.

I get annoyed when it becomes the go-to formula for characters that have no other dimension. I wouldn't appreciate it if I were the other gender.

One dimensional characters are the worst. … like most of Stallone’s characters and Schwarzenegger’s characters and Willis’s characters … well, basically, any action movie characters. Oh, and Shatner. He had no depth either.

At least they didn't fucking cry, and they keep their speeches short. I require more of a balance between weepy speechifying, and explosions and :tits:

There's a billion dollar movie title for you: Titsplosion.

The question is, if the only thing on tv was geared toward women (like Burnham always crying in Discovery) would you still watch tv and only ever pay attention to the eye candy and thats how you watched tv for .. 59 years, and 2+ months or would you just not ever watch tv. Cuz, believe me, I know MANY women who don't even own a tv.

In DS9 for example, people would have conversations during the middle of a fire fight. Garak might make a joke with Bashir or Dax and Sisko might share a memory while fighting the Jen Hadar. That’s different than stopping everything so they can have a therapy session and cry about something while the ship is under attack.

No crying at all in the Mirror Universe.
And no speeches apart from hailing the Empress.
    There's your ideal Trek.

I remember when I was in the military and shit was happening. I totally made jokes and shared memories during while everyone else was focused on staying "alive".

**put quote around alive as training exercises rarely put us in actual life threatening situations.

This reminds me that f the sSouth Park deal they made that hasn’t quite panned out. These are straight to streaming too so Discovery, Lower Decks and Prodigy probably all get a movie. Followed by sequels. No fourth Kelvinverse film.
