Asking someone to back up their assertion isn’t a trap.

You said Comer was able to find his magically disappeared ’whistleblowers’. I asked where you got that info.

Why won’t you share with everyone your source?

Why don’t you tell me what you think is so offensive about it in the first place?

If you need it explaining, you're beyond help.

But I'll give you a clue - if I posted a pic of your mother and claimed she was a man in drag, would you be offended?

You seem awfully protective of your mother.

Does the fact Michelle obviously does an upper-body workout now and then offend you? Or is it some other aspect of her physical appearance?

Of COURSE I know what it's ABOUT. We're asking you why you find it funny.

    It isn't.

I know what Auschwitz was about but I shouldn't have to explain why jokes about Jews and gas ovens are wrong.

Humor is subjective and the meme had nothing to do with race.

The largest groups of asylum seekers are from Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela.

Is it your contention that these communist regimes are not repressing their people?

    Odd. I didn't mention race.

You seem to think "some other aspect of her physical appearance" equates to her skin colour though.

    Why might that be?

I mean, if you meant anything BUT her race, you'd be rushing to point out what it was, because being a racist is bad and you aren't a bad person, right?

not sure what the meme has to do with Mao in the first place? Y'know.. with the antifa flag up in the corner and all.Being that they're totally decentralized and antiauthoritarian (not too mention, against capital punishment), you might wanna consider they're actually quite libertarian.

fuck sakes... reduction/prevention are synonymous here.

your ilk were blocking the border here over the same shit; lying that vaccines were claimed to be a cure or means of eradication (they weren't. What part of "slow the spread" implied otherwise?)-when ya weren't touting the virtues of shooting bleach.

What always gets me is the ignorance. It's fine, to me, if someone disagrees with my political positions because they don't think it would work, I get it. It's perfectly reasonable that people who are educated on politics and economics find that communism requires something they're not sure people share as a quality. Even among communists there are many different ideas on how to effect socialist policies. It's the people that know nothing, or get their information from memes and other ignorant assholes that gets me so frustrated. Too many "experts" who don't even comprise a single brain cell among their legion.

good point.. I mean, is it really so upsetting if there's enough work, education, healthcare, and housing for everyone to have it? Or if someone can't work, we keep them fed, happy, and alive?

If there's efficient transportation so people don't need to drive to jobs (aided by the ability to live close to them or work remotely), but you can still have a vehicle that doesn't destroy the air we breath, is that upsetting?

That is the sticking point for me and a lot of people. At what point did we decide, as a society in the US, that having adequate housing, food, medical care, and time for rest is somehow destructive to US culture? That it's pie in the sky to demand the very basics of life while working your own life away for people who gain monstrous profits and then tell people they need to tighten their belts? Look at the US now, saying it will have to cut into Social Security because it doesn't have enough money, but we have enough money to fund a $1 trillion military every year. When anyone brings these things up, you get the usual crowd who decries it as socialism, and "Un-American," whatever the fuck THAT is supposed to mean.

None of what I advocate should be seen as anything other than reasonable to most people. Why is it that even moderate pushes for these things, ones once made into law by our own Franklin Roosevelt, is now somehow impossible? Why is it that people work harder and longer, but have less of what they need? There are data points that tell us what these problems are, how they can be solved, what can be done, and yet those data points get tossed aside as just something we can't do anything about. It's like gun control. In other countries, the notion of 30 children being murdered by a gunman would be seen as some kind of "Third World" horrendous, dystopian collapse of society, but in the US? It's business as usual, and something we just can't seem to fix.

The US seems to be just so stubbornly "unique" in that regard. Can't feed its people, can't house its people, can't see to the medical needs of its people, can't protect its children, can't support its seniors, can't secure mobility for all, whether that be physical, economic, or social mobility, and yet claims with so much certainty as to be the beacon of freedom, a city on a hill, and the most powerful nation in the world.

The US is none of these things, and yet when you talk about changing things on a fundamental level to reverse its priorities from the top down to from the bottom up, you get people who are far too comfortable screaming about a utopia that can never be. Why are they so goddamn scared about poor people having a real chance at happiness? Why do they have to lie so much to people who would benefit most? We know the answers to those questions, and we know why they have to make a society that addresses basic human needs seem truly evil. So why do people believe them when it's so obvious? I don't believe in utopias. They don't exist. As a communist, I agree with Friedrich Engel's work "Socialism: Utopian and Scientific," which goes into detail why a utopian society is unachievable, unrealistic, and unreasonable.

It's why when dipshits like @Uncle Albert claim I believe in a utopia, I know they haven't listened to a word I've said, or understand anything about what I believe. They have, instead, drawn upon their own ignorance to supply the fearful words they need to scare everyone else.

I'm not asking for people to suddenly become communists overnight. What a silly thing. It took me years of study, along with examining my own life experiences, to come to the conclusions I have. It's not too much, however, to ask people to join me in trying to bring what I've listed above to everyone, something that society is supposed to address anyway, or what's the point? Human development and advancement has always relied on the community to build and fortify itself, rather than on one person having full control of everything. These people want to run a society like a business, something that only seeks to benefit itself and those at the top, while those further down have to struggle to share the remaining resources. When a company loses profit, the CEO doesn't usually leave. Who does? The workers. The people who created the value. They're cast off as useless, despite being the very reason the company can exist.

We deserve better than that, and whether we get it by communism, by Democratic Socialism, market socialism, or some other such system that puts labor first, I will be pleased. I would be thrilled if the US finally decided to join the 21st century, and embraced a more socialist based system like some western countries have embraced. I don't expect utopia, but by god we should at least have our basic needs met without dying hungry and exhausted to increase someone else's wealth.
