Thursday, instead of my website, I got "No server available."
That lasted thru Saturday. Sat night instead of my home page I got a popup asking what program I wished to open the file with :wtf:.
As of Midday Sunday I've been getting text-only saying "This site has exceeded its 10GB per month transfer."
Yeah, uh, I pay for the Silver Service 50GB per month, and no way I've used even 10 anyway.

5 days with no service and no response from tech support emails. I'll try calling tomorrow, but the last time I called tech support I got voice mail telling me to have a nice New years Eve - that was in May.

So is there an overseeing organization I can get involved in this?

I really wanna switch to anew provider. but the whole transfer of files and domain name sure sounds like a giant pain in the ass.

I guess we don't have this provider where I live. I have Comcast/Infinity internet and cable, and they are pretty good.

I use Green Geeks and have been happy with them. It's not too bad to move a site, just takes some waiting.

I use word press as my framework (Genesis theme) and blue host as my provider.

If you're willing to pay $29 a month, WP Engine is a fantastic Wordpress host.

$29? Fuck no! It's just a "look at my models" site. It's $8.99 a month and that's plenty.
I rent my domain name from GoDaddy, maybe it makes the most sense to go to them. According to an article, they're in the top 10 providers.

There are a lot of those "articles" out there.

Honestly, for a "look at my models" site, the Four Horsemen should just host you at WF.

GoDaddy is really not bad. I use them currently. My personal site I will likely continue to host with them, while my business site I will eventually migrate to WP Engine because of their more specialized features and better reliability for larger-scale things. GoDaddy's support staff, besides being 24/7 which is a major plus, is pretty knowledgeable and they don't mind answering techie questions that are outside the scope of their own service.

After a full week of submitting tech support requests, phone calls and emails, I finally got a response that simply said "You should be able to view your site now." No explanations or excuses or apologies, just that.

When I checked, I get about 50-50 response. Sometimes it comes up, sometimes I get the "exceeded your 10GB" message. Basically a crapshoot what happens. :bang:

Today being the first of the month, if their "10GB for the month" message were true, it should be back up 100% reliably. Nope, it's still a toss-up.

My bad luck I picked these assholes as a host.

The front page comes up, and then I can get to the model sections. But when I try to click on the individual models I get the 10GB exceeded message

Sometimes hitting refresh a few times works. Sometimes not.

Oh lordy, I don't wanna go thru the fuss of moving it.

0catch looks like a couple of university students in Provo UT started a business as an undergraduate project.

Your ISP should provide hosting included with your monthly fee. The disadvantage is it discourages churn (moving to another ISP). Otherwise godaddy, their silly name aside, should be reliable: they're a major domain name registrar so reliability should be cornerstone to their operation.

Interesting - I went and got a GoDaddy account (half the cost of 0Catch!) and started uploading my website files. And suddenly my 0Catch website works PERFECTLY. :garamet:

    Too late, motherfuckers.

Back at 0Catch, my only option to disengage is "Click here to downgrade to free webhosting (not eligible for refund)" :garamet:

Fuck it, it's worth it. I also emailed them a few choice words as to my reason.

Oh, and I deleted all my files from their server first.
