I think it is a comment on the ridiculously long US election timeline.

It is a small, SMALL, reason I want Harris to win but if she does I hope the unconventional nomination process and three month election campaign is studied to see if it helped or hurt.

They were willing to tinker with the order of the states. Wonder if they will consider moving it back some.

I am deeply saddened that I am unable to vote for Dear Leader due to His untimely death last year at the hands of the evil trans-immigrants who murdered Him and made it look like a heart attack while He made His glorious morning bowel movement. Well, JD Vance is the Republican frontrunner. The gross misogyny, the dishonesty ... he has everything they love in a candidate.

It's also not inconceivable that he'll be the incumbent. Between Trump's lifestyle and his fairly obvious encroaching dementia, he may not live another four years. Presumably DeSantis still has presidential ambitions. A number of the dipsticks who ran in 2016 probably do as well.

Hard to say what Liz Cheney will do. Will she fight to revive the Republican party of 20 years ago, probably losing because she's not a scumbag, or try to found a new party?

On the Democratic side, Harris is the leader of the party now, and it's hard to imagine her vanishing into the woods the way Al Gore and Hillary Clinton did. That's not to say that she will run again, but one way or another, she's going to be a factor.

Of course, we can count on lots of idiotic speculation like "what about Michelle Obama?" (come on, people, she's not interested), and various other pieces of Obama administration nostalgia.

Senators? I dunno, maybe Kirsten Gillibrand makes another run at it. Governors? Sounds like Gavin Newsom is pretty ambitious. Everybody will talk about Gretchen Whitmer, but if she has any interest in national office she's keeping it well hidden.

She never had a large base of her own supporters, the entire party just swung to boosting her. And so as the party swings away she'll be left on the outside.

I saw someone suggest this morning that if Trump somehow eliminates term limits and insists on running again, Barack Obama would obliterate him in 2028.

If Obama beat Trump in 2028 he could serve two terms and STILL be just a year older than Trump is RIGHT NOW.

Yep. Not to put too much weight on the joke at this point, but that old meme about the Democrats losing to a die hard Republican and then looking in the mirror and saying to themselves "we're going to have to become more racist" just keeps playing out.

Look at what they did this time. "We love Dick Cheney!" "We love war!" "We want to close the border, too!" "We don't like biological men in womens sports!" and so on. They already pushed hard right to grab votes because pushing hard left and guaranteeing better healthcare, better wages, and housing for all is just unappealing to them. I believe in 2028 they will push a Romney type because all the party leaders know how to do is cater to their money crowd.

Let the bodies hit the windshield. My car voted a couple of days late, but it was decisive for killing the trumpanzees. My car may be a small little corolla made of plastic and not really good at ramming, but the skittish driver of the UA jeep does some damage when it hits the white F150 trying top speed past it on the right when I beeped my horn and made the radical turn into the middle lane.
