A Willow Sequel?

Ron Howard likes the idea.

I'm part of the rare little cult that digs that movie.

I grew up watching Willow and have the book trilogy that came after. The books get weird kind of fast, but they have their moments.

I had no idea it wasn't a popular movie. Must be the same reason I've still never seen Princess Bride.

I'd watch it.

Just...no.

Meh.

Weren't the follow-up books written by Chris Claremont? And full of tedious Claremont-isms?

I loved that movie.

I've never read other Claremont books. What sort of things are you talking about?

Severely inconsistent characterizations, wildly stilted and unrealistic dialogue, the fact that he only writes one female character type and two male character types (Wolverine and not-Wolverine, to be specific), the same betrayal-or-corruption followed by redemption plotline that he always writes . . . ugh.

Someone is probably nigh-invulnerable, or fighting something daemonic.

Ahh, there was a daemon involved.

And you can bet your last dollar that you'll find the phrase "body and soul" in there. Also "fast as we can." "I . . . hurt." "Yum!" (in relation to a character finding another character attractive). And lots of names with apostrophes in them.

Sequel? I'm surprised "WILLOW" isn't yet another thing Hollywood is rebooting/remaking/redoing/re-whatevering!

It's apparently going to be a Disney+ series.

It makes sense to bring these things to streaming services. I am much more tempted to watch a willow remake in my home than to spend a lot of money on a single viewing I cannot pause and I have to sit with the general public.

Weird choice to replace Alyson Hannigan with Warwick Davis, but I'll reserve judgment until I see it.

I only know of Willow thru Life's Too Short.

I really need to put in a re-watch of that. F-ing hilarious.

I really don't understand the appeal of Willow.

Saw in theatres back in the 1980s. It's one of those movies you like as a kid but as soon as you reach any level of maturity you realize how crappy it actually was.

The best part about it, though, was that it was used an awesome running joke over 20 years later in Life's Too Short.

Unfortunately it is on the side of disney. I am getting more anti disney as time goes on. I do not have pure fanboy hate so I will probably try to see it. I like that they tried to put some humor in the clip.

*imagines the cast stuffing him into an Ewok suit and tossing him around on the set* Uh, yeah, adorable.

That would be a little yiff.
