This is set between Prometheus and Alien. I don't know about the Predator movies.

Covenant is sometime after Prometheus. How long after we don't know yet. Fassbender is again playing the android David. What happened to Roony Mara's character is not yet known.

It's ok, I assume you mixed them up because they both played Lizbeth Salander in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo; Noomi Rapace in the original European version, and Rooney Mara in he American version.

Actually, I've never seen either version of Dragon Tattoo. Maybe it was the double "oo" in each name that tripped me up. Or maybe my memory is shot.

Five minute prologue.

I wanted to like that extended prologue, but the characters didn't appeal to me. And James Franco? I can only hope he's the first to get up close & personal with a facehugger.

I'm pretty sure Franco bites it early on. I liked the prologue though.

After the disgrace of Prometheus I have zero desire to see this one.

You know, as deeply flawed a film Prometheus is, I still really like it.

I liked it and Fassbender does an excellent job.

Aspects of it were okay, but Damon Lindelof really fucked that movie up. As for this upcoming movie, well, John Logan is said to be writing it, and he's had both good and bad movies. That includes movies like Star Trek: Nemesis and The Time Machine.

It also includes Gladiator, so...

That being said Logan doesn't get sci-fi that well, I guess we'll see.

Eh, as much of a Romanaboo as I am, I only really like Gladiator for the feel of it. It isn't one I'd really say was all that well written. The Aviator is probably the only one of his that I'd really compliment in that way.

Oh, I definitely liked Gladiator. I didn't know he wrote Aviator, my ex-wife loves that movie. "It's the wave of the future."

Yes, but not for very long and it's not a direct follow up to Prometheus like I originally hoped. That's not to say I won't watch this, I think it looks good, I just was hoping she'd have a bigger role.
