okay I might have to see if this is satire so I'm not vouching for it's veracity. But anybody who has ever served in or worked with the military will not be surprised. The more "higher ups" you have around the less connected to reality and common sense things get.

So I knew you this dude. He was in this unit called the uh... 14th Sociological Operations Group.

So some officer needed a bullet point for their OER so decided to stand up an intelligence unit inside the Group.

    Big deal.

    Big deal.

They spent 50 grand on swag with the crest and motto: PERSUASION THROUGH INTELLIGINCE.

I’ll say that again. They spent 50 grand on swag with the crest and motto: PERSUASION THROUGH INTELLIGINCE.

That shit became a collectors item. What didn’t get buried in a hole in the ground. And you better not get caught with any.

50 grand and they couldn't afford a dictionary? A few years ago they had an Army designed & mass produced official poster in the office of one of my customers. At the very end of a long inspirational message was "we are the guardians of freemdom." Yes, FREEMDOM. So if you appreciate your freemdom, you're welcome!

Does it not occur to them that they are sort of inside a bubble and are part of group mindthink? I am not actually downing it in this case as uniformity in command and operation should help a military force.

Years ago the people I worked with at the paintball field involved me in some combat training exercises for the troops to encounter creative tactics. The military, from my perspective, seemed to understand the value of using creative civilian minds to challenge the troops. Before anyone goes there, I do believe we worked with standard troops and not elite combat units. I did not ask a whole lot of questions of what it was about because we were having fun. I was really just along for the ride as a creative operator and other people organized this.

I am just saying the military seemed to be self aware enough to understand this sort of thing would be better accomplished with the use of civilian contractors.

Maybe it was just local commanders who did such things.

I guess I should prepare for the rise of skynet.
