More uncommon than a man with three buttocks, a politician says he made a mistake and instead of blaming underlings, takes the (figurative) bullet himself. For the record, it's British Columbia Premiere John Horgan. The issue is about the Royal British Columbia Museum. Whatever your politics, we could do with more of this. I'll be interested in hearing from @tenlubak , @Spaceturkey @weareborg and any of our other Canadian friends on what this guy's about and how they feel about him.
Well, it's three time zones away for those of us in Onterrible... TBH I don't really know what's going on in BC's provincial affairs most of the time. Sounds like the museum expansion was a vanity project for Horgan? Although I hope to Dawg that they weren't planning to disfigure it like what happened to the equally venerable Royal Ontario Museum (and a few other heritage buildings that have suffered modern additions). (also: no "e" at the end of "Premier") What's noteworthy is that the project seems to be being reconsidered as a matter of fiscal restraint by a socialist. Meanwhile Ontario's mini Trump corporate capitalist has the pork flowing like an Oktoberfest food stand for things we really don't need or want that when (if) finished, will be "sold" to private administration while the public pays for it into the next generation.
