UnitedHealthcare CEO gunned down. On a related note: How UnitedHealth’s Playbook for Limiting Mental Health Coverage Puts Countless Americans’ Treatment at Risk
A health insurance CEO was shot in a targeted attack? to the shooter. Run forest run! Meet me in hell motherfucker and I will buy you a fucking drink or twenty. I am sure it is probably something shitty and not some noble thing about shooting a sleazebag who makes his money getting in the way of poeople and their medicine and screwing people over at the worst weakest point in their lives. But at least he got his happy little life cut shorter.
The cynic in me thinks they’ll just deny more claims in order to give every executive a team of bodyguards and extra bonuses for ‘mental health compensation’.
There's a Dr. Who fanfic where Ace saves a mentally-ill woman who was going to shoot the Premier of Australia because she wasn't getting help and blamed him. Said woman isn't actually going to manage to kill him either way as she isn't paying attention and is going to step out in front of a bus. The Doctor shows her that this resulted in the Premier taking interest in the plight of mental health and setting up help organisations. And the woman being invited to open the first centre. But, this won't happen here. Because we don't even have the fucking Valeyard.
The police are ready to start searching for the killer, but they are still waiting for the victim's primary care doctor to fax them the referral paperwork.
Oh sorry the ambulance coverage was denied because the private ambulance company used the wrong coding and refuses to fix it.
This is my biggest issue with medical care. And I refuse to add to the nonsense. If your (doctor) office is submitting paperwork with incorrect coding, then you don’t get paid. I’m not paying for your mistakes.
Eldest moved to middle school so I had to go pick up physical copies of the medication permission forms, take them to the pediatrician’s office, fill out my half of them and then have the office do theirs and fax back to the school. *shrug*
https://bsky.app/profile/courtneymilan.com/post/3lcinelrh6227 Interesting thread on UHC’s business model.
Good. From everything I've read the deceased was a mass murderer, but he was never going to face justice because he killed people with immoral business practices instead a gun or a knife. I'm glad he's dead, and I hope he's only the first of his peers to get what they deserve.
Especially because the only news coverage is on the victim, when coverage for a spouse and children is typically 5-10 times more.
Keep dreaming. Less than a decade ago, someone was targeting extremely wealthy people - globally. Not a lot of news coverage, but some. Then it just stopped. No more news of the murders, no news of apprehending a suspect, no news of criminal actions. Good thing all my medical procedures are through the VA.
Video for those who want to watch it. https://www.reddit.com/r/ThatsInsane/s/xJV5WOsiMP It was 100% a hit.
Mask, suppressor and low power ammo (notice he has to manually cycle it after each round)… Not a random act of violence.
Too late! Damnit. They’ve already taken it down because it violates the rules against posting violence.
Honestly it looked like something out of a movie. I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it. Healthcare ghoul is walking down the sidewalk when justice dude steps out from between two cars with a suppressed pistol and shoots him in the back at point blank. Then puts two more into him while he is going down and then on the ground and then just walks away.
Bonus points if the CEO was listening to "Don't Stop Believin" when he got hit. Hitman should have worn a Members Only jacket, too.
Having taken Prevent training today (spotting radicalism), y'all are on a watchlist for liking violent solutions. Well, after I have a constructive chat first, then refer you for supportive de-escalation by trained peeps if that doesn't help. Plus unless you're in the UK, I can't really do much.
If my fate was to die by gun violence, I would not want to get shot in the back. If I'm going to get shot, I would want to know. It's like dying in your sleep. No thanks.
