This will be the fourth time we've gone out together and I was wondering if it would be too early of me to buy her flowers. Also, does anyone know if florists are year round?

    Flowers, sure. Roses? Too soon.

Pick up a nice cash & carry mixed bouquet. It's sweet and caring without going overboard.

Nautica is right. Too soon for roses. A mixed bouquet is perfect. Or even just a bouquet of daisies. Something simple but pretty.

I would go with a single flower, and then tell her why you picked that particular one and how it reminds you of her because of such and such. The dozen roses is when things get more serious.

A single cactus rose - she's a bloom of bright color in your dry desert of a world.

It is a bit too soon for roses but flowers would be nice.

    Fourth date?

One rose - if YOU think it's getting serious.

Don't show up at the door with the rose in your teeth, though. That would be a bit much. :)

Get her a gift basket filled with tiny liquer bottles and travel size tubes of astro-glide.

Damn it, that was the whole fucking plan.

Though I do consider it to be getting quite serious. I do anyway. The way she has been talking though... It is hard to judge.

Personally I see roses as far less sentimental than acutally picking out an arrangement myself, especially when I do so to have a meaning behind it. I guess I'll just have to see what is available and then make a decision from there. If all the small boquets suck, I will just get a single rose.

Make sure it's not a RED rose. Go with Pink or Yellow or even Orange. See how she likes that first, then move to Red. JMO of course.

Yes, if you go with pink, then you can arrive with it in your mouth.

Watch the thorns, though...bleeding mouth is kind of a turnoff. :)

See if you can find a unique or a different type of flower in a bouquet. That would be thoughtful and cool too. Something like snapdragons or foxglove. Those are pretty and unusual. A florist should have them.

See now I am glad I joined WF- I get the sagely advice of older women. I'd never think of something that cool, but ironically I can picture in my head exactly what both of those are. I'm surprised how well I know flowers.

When I worked at home depot ages ago, I'd walk through the front end and take a length of string from the spool that we used for balloons and then walk through the lawn and garden section before leaving work. I brought home a boquet of different colored icicle pansies to a prior flame.

;) I'm not THAT old, And it's good that you know flowers. Dan actually has a picture of foxglove that I'm going to buy one day. Oooh! And african violets are nice too, especially if they're in a cute little pot.

Well see I meant in relative terms- older, but not old by any means. Me being only 21 a hell of a lot of people on here are older than me. I'm kinda stuck with Ted, being older than the TKO-Jenna-Lethe-Bunnie bunch and younger than the majority of posters (so far as I know anyhow). I know never to call women old, unless it is your mother and you are givin' her shit.

She deserves it, she's always frontin'.

Actually, I for one, cannot call any of the women here "older".

Lurky and Garamet are "contemporaries" for me, by any definition (Hey, remember the moon landing? Yeah, that was awesome, wasn't it?)...Meka is "Young Lady" to me and TKO teeters in the "child" category...
