On another board, the Tea Party members started calling themselves "Teabaggers", oblivious to the previously established meaning of the word. Only when more streetwise posters stopped laughing long enough to explain their hilarity did the Tea Party members demand board management to ban the word. It was essentially the same as if someone from the 1950's traveled to the current era and, in a spirit of good cheer, announced that he was feeling "gay".
Well, he was in favor of abolishing Jim Crow laws. Which as we all know, were government intrusions into the affairs of private citizens, and how private sector businesses conduct their affairs. If you wanted to hire blacks, or let them eat at your lunch counter, and it is racist bureaucrats and thuggish police harassing you for doing so, it is hardly a symptom of a free market. So yeah kitty, MLK was for a smaller government. Linky
