Brazil's not a huge power, really. And i dismiss the validity of the 1967 borders. lose a war, lose territory. too bad, so sad. life goes on.
But this goes against Israel's plan to continue building more and more settlements while the diplomats play Battleship, until sometime in 2075, when Israel plans to formally recognize a Palestinian cafe!
When you step back and look at the historical precedent of Brazil harboring Nazi war criminals then something like this is not surprising at all. People with that hateful mindset can justify anything.
Glad you fellas are so understanding of Israel's historic ties to that land. Now when Mexico finally gets their historic lands back you can all rally around them, too.
So when are all the Spanish speaking people in Mexico going back to Spain then so the people who were in Mexico "first" can have their land back? When is your ass going back to Europe so that the natives that Canada/British stole the land from can have it back?
Interesting, considering that prior to the 1967 Six Day War, the West Bank belonged to Jordan and the Gaza Strip belonged to Egypt. And in 1967, there was nothing resembling a nation of Palestine at either site. I'm wondering just why so many people are obsessed with making Israel return to the 1967 borders. Because that will NEVER happen.
That pretty much sums the situation up. Brazils action is welcome, but it will take many such actions to achieve justice.
Danish/Mohawk ancestory... I can call dibs (SO long as we don't go too far back in the latter history and whomever they eradicated along the way). But you're right... Natives in the Americas have valid claims to places long conquered and developed. I suppose we could ghettoize them in the cities, usurp their reserved lands when convenient, and of course marginalize their civil rights...
It's just a handy starting point. Once Israel pulls back to that, they'll demand Israel surrender even more territory.
I disagree. You're fully aware of why people want Israel to return to the 1967 borders. Those are the legal borders.
Once again, Delaware...who supposedly doesn't believe in make believe lines creating countries...at least where America is concerned...shows his vast hypocrisy by applauding this topographical squiggle.
Ok. Let Israel go back to the 1967 borders and Gaza will go back to Egypt and the West Bank will go back to Jordan. Then to prevent further bloodshed both countries can empty the West Bank and the Gaza Strip of people and then sell the land to Israel.
