Well ... bin Laden was a reactionary religious extremist who didn't really need an excuse to attack the U.S. Is our track record in the Middle East an especially good one? No (though you could argue that our track record in Latin America is far worse). But we're talking about somebody who, among other things, believed that Israel's mere existence was a crime and the country should be erased from existence. He also railed against Americans for homosexuality, premarital sex, drinking, and gambling (which, come to think of it, sounds an awful lot like the Baptists). Definitely not a fan of freedom.
There are definitely hardcore Islamists out there who absolutely do hate the freedom we have in the West because it is a threat to and erodes the power they have over the people they oppress The bombs really aren't helping either though
Most certainly, but it was a good example of our chickens coming home to roost. We used Bin Laden for our own terror purposes in one of our frequent Middle East regime changes, and then fucked him over. It was inevitable that something was going to happen, and it was something caused by our own government. Once again, Reagan's policies got more innocent people murdered.
True. However, in this case the error was not that we turned on him, but that we propped him up initially, part of our myopic "we'll support anyone, no matter how brutal, as long as they're not commies" policy.
Well, yeah, that's the whole part of it, that we do these things. A country says "we have decided to nationalize our oil production" and the US starts murdering their people, and then claims the moral high ground as a beacon of democracy and freedom. The only actual freedom you have in the United States is the freedom to suffer and die from neglect after being shaken down for every last drop of labor and wealthy you possess.
No doubt. The Hardcore Clerics and Hardcore Evangelicals would have some pretty great BBQ parties together, joyously plotting about how to fuck people over
Remember during the debates when Kamala said Putin would eat Trump's lunch, and Trump's stupid answer was "no he won't! ". Technically, it was Iran, but Putin helped. Putin's always there. Like a photo-bombing Epstein.
What do you know? Facebook Memories tells me I cooked some three years ago today. One of my favorite things to cook. Marinate some flanken-cut ribs in soy sauce, sesame oil, and other Asian seasonings then grill. Stupid easy.
The massacre in Lebanon yesterday was of a different order than anything we've been seeing. Obviously calculated to fuck things up. Hundreds killed, thousands injured and hospitals overwhelmed. Netenyahu is openly bragging about killing the family members of his opponents.
Yeah, I used to be a huge supporter of Israel but their behaviour after the Oct. 7 attacks has quickly turned from a justifiable response to eliminate the threat, to outright war crimes.
I mean, Netanyahu was on Fox News hoping he had the permission structure for exactly all this shit right after 9/11. Guess we didn't wanna see it; like we didn't wanna see the real Storm or Tamar.
RTE news : Netanyahu says he wants to start peace talks with Lebanon http://www.rte.ie/news/world/2026/0409/1567385-conflict-middle-east/ LOL. Someone has tugged on his leash.
The Washington Post is a terrorist organisation. This is what, the third time with Iran? And the fifth in the middle east recently? No wonder the US is incapable of reaching any agreement. Nobody can possibly trust them to act honourably.
