The US military started attacking civilian infrastructure now. They know this leads to disaster for them. Strategically Iran must escalate as well in response.
They don't know that, though. For over a century now, militaries around the world have operated under the delusion that one only needs a successful air campaign to win the war. The Behind the Bastards podcast did a series about the idea (here's part one), despite the fact that we have ample evidence (see WWII, Korea, Vietnam, both Gulf Wars, to name but a few) it doesn't work, people in the military still can't shake the delusion. The idiots calling the shots in the US military think that one of two things will happen: We'll blow up enough stuff so the Iranians can't fight any more. Or, the Iranian people will get tired of being blown up and overthrow their government. The technical details are far too long for me to go into here, but you know how folks are saying that the drones the Iranians are using cost anywhere between $7K - $30K a pop? For a lot of the targets the Iranians will be aiming for, the drones don't even have to cost that much, and don't require sophisticated components. Take oil refineries, they're really big, and they've got a lot of flammable stuff in them. You hit pretty much anywhere inside the refinery (which is a target that's size is measured in kilometers) and you're gonna blow a lot of stuff up. The same kind of guidance systems used on V-1s and V-2s is more than adequate to get you where you want to go. A Patriot missile is a couple million, and can only take out a drone or two at a time. For that kind of money, you can fire literally hundreds of dirt cheap drones at the your target. And hitting big places like oil refineries is what you want to do. It pisses lots of people off, fucks with the global economy, and makes it more likely that Republicans will lose the mid-terms, thus, hopefully, making it harder for Trump to do shit.

Nah. Trump was worried that he was dropping in the polls and people were complaining about high gas prices. Prices have dropped, and his poll numbers have stabilized. We're dealing with a giant fucking toddler in the White House. He doesn't know shit about fuck, and can't engage in any long term thinking. If they had any inkling that they couldn't just bomb the Iranians into submitting, they wouldn't have started the war in the first place.
As the US military increasingly reports to terrorist attacks on their population, Iran has responded in kind against Kuwait, where the largest number of US attacks are originating. They've hit a desalination plant which is heavily relied upon. Word is that Trump backed down on his planned attacks again and wants to return to the MoU. The Iranians aren't having it though. They've been burned too many times now and it's politically impossible for Trump to keep his commitments.

i do not believe that there is any move shamefull, spitefull or just outright stupid and lawless that these criminals won't do and the worse thing is they are getting away with it. we have reached a point in this society that there are actually people above the law. money and not 'truth justice and the american way' rule the day.
That's the problem with the current Middle East conflict. How do you cheer for the good guys, when there aren't any good guys?
